ZOTAC's RTX 4090 AMP Extreme AIRO GPU smiles for the camera

I stand corrected seems like the £2500 tag is for the 4090 not the ti model oh well guess you all better get your extra £1k ready, we all knew they were going to cost more.

I guess the real question is are they worth it, when the market is flooded with current gen.

Nah man you would be amazed at how many people thought they would be cheaper. Like, much cheaper :D

Comes as no shock to me really, but I suppose they have one coming :D

Are they worth it? absolutely not. No way, no how.

If you take a quick look at the games that need them right now? that would be 0.

/Cartman hat on.

I mean, at least in the past they would have given us a courtesy lick by having a really good game waiting for us to play on them. Now? it's just a dry bumming with no game to play to sweeten the deal.

And yeah, if they have to release a Ti variant you can expect the price to rise massively, because the Ti will be the full fat version they reserve for Quadro etc cards.

It's pricing like that is why this player has left the building, the behaviour of the GPU makers for the last couple of years didn't help either. PC gaming is just to expensive now so getting out of the hobby after some 35 years.:(

Midrange cards are still very viable. They are more expensive than they used to be. The days of RX 480's and GTX 970's are likely gone, but there are some great deals out there. Like the RX 6700 non-XT model. Only a few of them were made, but they're faster than a 6650XT, draw less power when tweaked, and are cheaper. The 6700 is more than capable of 1440p/144Hz gaming in most titles with a few small adjustments. It's efficient as well. Occasionally we see some good deals on 3060Ti's as well, which again is very capable of fulfilling 99% of what gamers truly need.

Definitely not, No GPU is worth upwards of £1000, Nvidia are now directly selling 3090Ti Founders Editions for £1100 and still making a tidy profit, These cards will be no different. You'll be able to get them a year+ after their launch for much less and they'll still be highly profitable.

GPU manufacturers are taking people for a ride.

In two days mining will be gone.

Yesterday I saw a 3090FE on Ebay for £749. I give it a week and those will be hitting £500. If they are not? then as soon as Jen paper launches the 4090 they will then.

Every one said it was not possible to buy a 2080ti for £500. As soon as Jen announced the fake prices on the 3070 and 3080? they were £500.

Which if you think about it a bit....

The 4090 is supposedly almost twice as fast as a 3090. At £2500.
A 3090 will soon cost £500.

Doesn't take a genius there bro.

The hilarious and quite yummy part is that the 3090 was the one the miners all bought too :D

I'm hoping the flood of ex-mining GPUs will force new prices down. I'm really tempted by a 6700 10GB. They're €450 at the moment, but I'd like to see it drop to €350. It's the best value GPU in my opinion.

I'd recommend waiting a little longer your get a far better GPU at that price soon than a 6700 man just wait for the new cards then take your pick within budget.

I don't want to pay a lot of money. Sadly I'm no longer in the position to drop €600 on a GPU every few years. To be honest, I don't think I need to either. An RX 6700 and a R5 5600 would give me all that I need. If the 6800 or an equivalent was as cheap as €400, then sure, why not? But Navi 33 won't be out for a long time and I doubt it'll be €400. I don't predict we'll see a 4060 until Q2 2023.

Absolutely love how you think and your reasoning here... I'm honestly in the same boat, where spending thousands on a GPU isn't that appealing these days and that a mid range GPU does the job just fine.

Before getting the high end was mostly just for bragging rights in all honesty, but these days, there are far more important things in life that are just that, more important to drop money on.

Almost no one "needs" a new gpu. They only want one. Problem is we have too many that lack the willpower to hold off. I am a culprit of this also but I am happy my 2080ti is still pushing hard through the years. Given todays energy crisis, and the rumours of what these new cards will draw, regardless of whether I can afford the cards or not, it will certainly cost me dearly in the long run.

You'll find that will power increasing as the prices do.

Mine has. Last time I bought a top end card at launch was Titan XP, and it was used for £650 or so.

I could if I really wanted to, but I don't. Got other things I'd much rather have to be honest.

Back in the Maxwell days, you needed a 780Ti to run 1080p max. Then it went down to the GTX 980. Then it down to the 1060. It stayed at the 2060 because Turing. But you only need an RX 6600XT for 1080p gaming now. I'm at 1440p, and a GTX 1080 was all i needed back in 2016-2018. Now all you need is a 3060 or a 6700XT, somewhere in between those two lines of graphics cards.
