You've got to be shitting me!

I'm ty-ping this slow-ly in an attempt to pre-vent your connection from choking too much

Sorry, couldn't resist, that is rather poor! My connection is reported at 4,100 mbps at the moment, which is pretty fast for me, and while I can download and circa 425-435 kB/s at the moment I often have problems streaming videos as they tend to simply stop buffering and die - most notably on the IGN site.

As such I rarely stream if I can avoid it, rather I try to download vids directly if possible. If on Youtube I use the "Easy YouTube Video Downloader" plugin, which seems to work quite well for the most part.

Cheers,

Scoob.

ive been getting around the same sort of speed for the last week or so (ever since BT play with my local exchange) it also drops out alot aswell and when i called my isp they told me i would be better off having a new line put in.

not that i want another phone line when its quite clear to me that when they changed the exchanged housing over they have managed to mess something up. so in my eyes someone needs to come out and look at it

WTF How!

Mine is failing the speed test at the moment, consider yourself lucky! my BT infinity hasn't worked properly for like 2 months, been arsing around with 3 hour technical support calls to them, I've had three new routers this month! Seriously considering moving to virgin fibre optic.

Im glad its not just me who thinks the bt homehubs are lumps of crap. I want virgin so bad i called up but they told me it would be too expensive to install. I live off the main road like 30/40 metres so that sucks

I live right on top of the fibre optic junction box, it only has to travel 1 meter to my house, I had an engineer round and he just said the line and setup is perfect, but the wireless just doesn't work. He even changed the hub over for the sake of it, but BT refuse to acknowledge that it is a fault to do with their ISP profile for me.

Also, just found out that this homehub is faulty so will have to be changed

Universitys' JANET connection is sweet! This is from the limited shared wireless access.
