As I have just suffered from a Trojan - it got me thinking what security is the most popular, I have never had any problems with my current security set up in 3 years, until Yesterday-due to an uninstall of Adaware a few weeks ago?

My Security & "cleaning" tools - was / is

XP SP2 with updates

SP2 Firewall

AVG 7.5

Mozilla - not IE

Lavasoft Adaware

Advanced Windows Care v2

Tune up Utilities 2007

Disk Keeper 2007

What do the rest of you use ?

Similar or not?

Linux firewall running two different AV products. HTTP (Transparent) Proxy, SMTP Proxy, FTP Proxy - all AV scanned.

Centrally managed AV on all PC's + windows FW

Internal SMTP Server with 5 different AV engines

Windows Defender + intermittent online scans from nanoscan.com & trend housecall...

I think thats it

NOD 32

Sygate firewall

Router Hard Firewall (which UPNP-aware malware can easily bypass -- I like UPNP convenience)

and most importantly exercising caution and bi weekly checking of ALL startup programs and services and cross checking the unfamiliar ones with Google :D [AKA paranoia]

xp/vista firewall

noddy32

dont use anti-spyware. i dont download/browse dodgy things :p

Notta. When i get the occational spyware i know where it is and how to fix it myself. Dont worry about being hacked, cause if i do i have absolutely nothing on this HD worth taking or looking at :D And its impossible to get into my other drive from this one.

windows xp - avg free antivirus and antispyware ( I can't believe how well it works and has a tiny foot print compared to other options)

Linux Fedora core 6 server and desktop - nothing.. no viruses or spyware happen in linux - it really is nice to not have to worry about it

also a hardware firewall that logs everything and emails a daily digest to me
