Your Biggest Fears

Another off-topic thread from me haha, just sat in work and saw a spider crawling across the wall behind the laptop.

You guessed what my fear is...ugly f'in spiders! What's yours, and how do you overcome them? Will touching the biggest, ugliest spider conquer the fear?

oh dear you are the mister offtopic on here, aren't you? survey time.
no specific fears really. i usually live in peace with spiders, as long as they don't bring their friends. they eat mosquitos for me and i don't kill them, a perfect symbiosis.

I agree with that lol, and heights and deep water i can swim kinda but im very un-buoyant so i just sink lol (ive never been good at endurance events i always have powerful explosive bouts of energy for things like 100m dash and its why im good at football for five mins then im crap) and im worried i wont have the energy to keep my head above water and ill just sink lol

same for me. never got what's fun about stamina sports anyways, that's just awfully painful. i used to be very good at football and handball or ball sports in general until i was 10, then i moved away and never got back into sports. don't really have the motivation either.
even though i am not a huge fan of swimming i think i could endure quite long. i tend to just float on the surface and no i am not fat :D i am even underweight.

Ha i used to be fit and healthy till i came to uni lol, and fat will float on water, so most fat people will more likely float lol.
The best sport i ever did though was trampolining, had to have a super strong core to do anything to a competition grade quality. plus back sumasalts were very demanding esp when your doing doubles and triples. And besides its a sport dominated by women ;) not always a bad thing, something else to add to my bucket list though is to finish my coaching qualifications.

The only thing I've encountered and feared is Spiders...

but not all spiders...as long as they just stay away or up in a corner I'lllet them live....

The ones that get no chances, no warnings and meet my size 8 or (weirdly) a can of Fly and Wasps killer (its an unlabelled spider killer too) are the big, quick footed ones that look ugly as heck.

they are inner beauties. you can see that when you smash their guts all over the wall.

I normally don't mind them, but its the mean look they have....

The flipside is that I don't mind Tarantulas. (wouldnt hold one but wouldn't kill it neither)

i don't mind any spider until they get pregnant. then i go berserk, no god damn spider babies in here.

Spiders, Black Widows in general.

These are some evil little fuckers. Not only can they just about kill you, but theyre not very big at all so you wont even know theyre on you til you DIE! YEESH! Theyre all over the place around here. Ive killed 4 around my house in the 5 years we've been here and swear I saw a 5th or a spider that looked like one in a roll of carpet in my garage. I pulled it out into the driveway and unrolled it but there was nothing in there so whatever it was is still in my garage.

Amputation is my worst fear. Even typing the word makes my skin crawl. I cant watch movies or anything like that with it in there either. I can handle the Friday the 13th type where some psycho is slashing away with a machete but the "real" looking ones like in Master and Commander. That ruined the whole movie for me and I havent watched it since.

Haha, well the forum goes quiet as really there is only so many tech questions you can ask so at least it keeps it alive a little!

yeah :) and i know what you mean about amputation. even though i maybe getting my ear amputated lol, so i can have two normal ones lol

I have a weird fear that when I get into the bath it's going to crack in half and the shards are going to slice me in half. Don't ask, it's very strange...

Oh, btw - That spider looks like it has a loading icon on its abdomen. lol

i know you said don't ask, but...wat? how is that supposed to happen? i mean physics don't work that way, doesn't that take away the fear to some extend?

Slightly dysfunctional, I am :P :

For some reason I have a very weird fear of holding a blanket -any blanket- at the edges... It literally makes my tongue feel like it's swelling and scares the shit out of me.

Also very fearful of loosing people that are dear to me, but not in the normal way... I kinda obsess over it and drive myself crazy :P

It's gotta to happen some day mate. Only advice I can give you is 'Just make sure that you're always having a good time when you're around those people. Don't fight with them over stupid things, and once they're gone you can look back at the good times you've had.

Sounds a lot easier than it is but yeah....

Yeah I think that's a drawing and not an actual black widow. I just grabbed the first image off Google. The real thing still looks pretty close to that tho.

Their venom is supposed to be like 15 times deadlier than a rattlesnake's ounce for ounce.

i once said that in a different thread in slightly different words and earned a shitstorm...
but yea, that is true. i accepted that everyone i know will die at some point a long time ago, there is no point in grieving for too long.

I can imagine that some people are afraid of this kind of truth tbh...

Don't go thinking that we're insensitive dicks though. I've already lost more friends and family than I wanted to and I'm only 18. In some cases, manly tears were shed, but that's okay.

I don't believe in heaven or an afterlife, so unfortunately I can't tell anyone that a person will be smiling down on them, but I do know for certain that if I were to die, I'd like to go out doing something that I love and I love nothing more than my friends.

So therefore; Have a good time, always.
