Hey hey me hearties!!

Right...im going to be getting an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 LGA775 'Yorkfield' soon simply because i can and iv just sold this badboy of a computer...

So, I need to know of a good mobo to be getting.

RAM = OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8000C5 1000MHz ReaperX HPC Enhanced Bandwidth Edition Dual Channel DDR2

Graphics = GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3

So can anyone help me? i might be able to get an abit In9 32x max mobo, but not too sure on whether its going to support it or not. all iv seen is people arguing over it so i gave up.

What you guys think?? Iv got about £160 - £200 budget. but cheaper the better and preferably black in colour (just looks nicer and will do with my theme)

Cheers guys.

The 680i wont support 45nm quads, but it does support duals.

Go for any of the normal recommended P35 or X38 boards for a quad.

Ok then, which board would you recommend out of the P35 or X38 boards??

Come on Ham, we both know your the master of this kind of intelligence :worship:

Well, as with the other 300 threads on this :rolleyes::

The IP35-Pro is a mighty fine board and many would agree.

Theres the Ix38 Quad GT lurking about too.

And if you do want to be able to go SLI in the future, then the only viable choice ive seen is the MSI P7N. Review is on the main page.

Last option would be get another P5E like your last one. But branching out is always a good thing.

I totally agree with you on the IP35 pro ... I have this board and it is simply great! of course as most P35 boards are, if you do not like the Abit version check out the Gigabyte p35 boards, those are nice too!

If you are not going to use SLI, there is really NO reason to go with a nvidia based board ( whatever it is 680i, 780i or even when 790i comes out! )

Have fun deciding!
