XFX's custom Radeon Navi RX 5700 XT has been Pictured - Detailed images released

They were really classy. GPUs often look tacky, like they're trying really hard to cater to the 'RGB crowd'. But the XFX Black was like a vintage car.

XFX is like a trip down memory lane for me.
remember the good old days when these guys were battling it out with PNY and BFG for the top spot in gpus. You would choose a Zotac over an Asus or MSI back then.

Agreed though, The DD cooler looked like it meant business

Hmm it was all going so well.

Up close it looks like cheap tacky plastic. And those two "things" each side of the XFX logo on the side? which way do I slide them?

It looks like the interior of a 80s Japanese car ffs. I quite like the shape. Like, just the overall shape. It would look kinda nice not being a straight slab. Everything else is just wrong.

If I designed that I would stand in town with a "Slap Me Please" Tshirt on.

My favorite XFX card was the 7970 GHZ triple fan design, like an early version of Radeon VII. Very nice.
But these years since have been horrendous, what's going on at XFX?!

That's exactly what I thought. Look at the xfx 7990,it looks almost the same.
Truth be told xfx seem to have been in decline since nvidia cut them off.
Shame they used to be the go to brand for gpus

This cooler looks so incredibly cheap, its not even funny how bad the styling is on that, its like a cheap speedometer frame but with fans in it instead of dials.

Nvidia did not cut them off.

At that time Nvidia were desperately trying to fix Fermi before launch. They wanted partners to all sit and wait for this, but production actually ceased for over six months. What I mean is, the GTX 200 series went EOL and so partners had nothing to sell, and it would be seven months + before they had anything else.

BFG went bust, XFX decided to partner solely with AMD. Which made sense, given the fact AMD were actually giving them product.

I phoned BFG for an RMA during this time and they told me that for six months all they were doing was replacing GTX 280 and 260 cards because of the high failure rate. Then they simply ran out of cards which is a crap situation.
