Soo looks like Polaris is also just Tonga tweaked and making use of the shrink. Cant say its all that surprising.

I'm surprised no one mentions the removal of the DVI ports. Love the replaceable cover like the Fury X. With reports of much higher overclocks, this is not surprising.

what is to be surprised? DVI is something from the past... display ports all the way...

Interesting, and because of the port layout, it might be possible to turn this into a single card solution like the Fury X with a proper water-block. I want to see a review and then decide if 2x480 is worth it for me.

lol i still use dvi and vga ports (well dvi to vga adpater)
Im not using a hdmi cable with my projector then losing all possiblilty to resize the screen to fit the confines of my wall without having to move the projector.

Most of the last AMD cards didn't have DVI. Dual Link DVI can power a 2560x1600 panel at 60Hz, DVI is still useful.

You need to consider whether people would want a DVI port or a Display port. You can bet pretty much everyone would choose the DP since you can just use an adapter whilst getting that nice bandwidth.

I'd say DVI is still semi relevant. Quite a few cheap 1080p monitors still don't have HDMI..

VGA on the other hand. hahahahah

I think this is a great move from AMD, now we know the complete line up is 460, 470 and 480 and 390 performance for less cash and less power its win win for the consumer

DVI is a thing of the past. It's too big and inconvenient for a start and offers nothing over other ports. HDMI is used for compatibility with TVs and bog standard monitors and the DP ports are to keep it in check with the latest resolutions and refresh rates. Both are far smaller and just more convenient.
