Xbox to copy PS3's "Home"

You can get it for around £1.92 a month on ebay. At that price I couldn't care whether or not it is free.

It's still infinently better than PS3's "free" service.

Nah it's getting to the point where it's not much better to be honest. The games are samey and game demo's suck anyway. God knows why anyone would rent a HD movie

At least playing online is free on PSN

Tbh, i disagree, £40 a year is nothing at all.. And the people who download the hd movies are the ones that have the xbox in their living room and dont want to pay £20 for the blu-ray dvd. Or fork out for a PS3 because they already bought the xbox and dont have a blu-ray player

Go to blockbuster and rent a blu ray for £1 more than a normal DVD. Then you dont have to wait for the download to finish, take up HDD space and inevitably using up your monthly download allowance ><

Let me guess.. Pat owns an Xbox and doesn't own a PS3? Don't knock it till you try it.

Kemp is right the PS3 online service is fantastic now and because it is free then in my opinion it beats the 360.

lol, says the guy with neither ;)

personally, I'm quite happy without xbox live more to do with the hassle than the money, i keep my online gaming to my computer and i'm perfectly happy with everyday DVDs. from what i can tell there isnt a huge difference between hd/bluray and dvd anyway, not compared to dvd and video at least

i wasnt knocking the ps3 at all in my post :S i was just justifying the xbox's services.

I know the online will be fantastic and most probably similar on both consoles.. But £40 a year isnt bad at all..

For those of us who have fast connections its probably easier and cheaper to download the movie than drive to a blockbusters lol.. Then theres the buying a blu-ray player, which in all fairness arent cheap...

I played a PS3 the other day and it is a damn good console (i still prefer xbox controlers) but it isnt 'better' than the 360 like the fanboys buzz about, i do in the end plan to buy one its just finding the spare cash

I never said it was 'better', although it is better built and quieter by far. HD movie downloads are pretty much useless in the UK and quality is 'OK', but compared to a Blu Ray it's pretty poor. For myself, I buy Blu's to keep and will rent a Blu Ray from Blockbusters if I want to see what it's like...at the same price as a normal DVD and the same price as a download and with superior AV quality to a HD movie download...which is kinda the point of high def

Either way Free>££'S

AYe i would agree with you there kemp. I wasnt on about your being a fanboy, i meant the ones you get on some forums who say the graphics are way better etc.etc.etc...

No it doesn't but as I said: Free>££'s ;)

I don't play online very much but the fact that I have the option to for nothing means I might....I could. With the 360 it means I HAVE to buy a gold account

Its the people that accept paying in the first place for a service is the reason why such things arent free.

So as ive stated, it will be worth it when its free. Until then paying to play is rediculous no matter if its a penny a month. Its still paying.

tbh the ps3 online has caught up and will soon better xbox. the fact that M$ are still charging when an equally good if not better service from Sony is free is beyond me tbh. they need to kick all the points and subsription crap and do it like ps3 where you pay in CASH not stupid M$ points, and accept debit cards not just a crappy credit card selection lol..

MS Points are designed to a) mask the actual price of the item and b) earn microsoft a bit more money a bit quicker. Because of those reasons it'll never go.
