Picked up a broken XBOX this morning, dead as a dodo. So for a project to do over the winter nights turn the XBOX into a PC. Some pics of the project.

One XBOX.

One empty XBOX

With an ASRock K7 mobo sitting, very tight fit.

With the aid of a dremel it will fit

Lid will fit with some sanding of some uprights.

I thought you meant a dead XBox 360! Sorry for the misunderstanding!

I am sure that it will fit now.. LOL if you buy yourself a cheap £40 or so mATX motherboard, and a new E2180 with the ultra low cooler.. it'll fit without a problem :)

looks like a tight fit but with a bit of effort i has the potential to be a god! what spec u plannin for it? Another tidy mod would be to use a Xbox Crystal case with blue led's inside.

Found a smaller scrap mobo P3,just to see how much room I can get inside case.

Plenty of room inside, will go for a slimline DVD drive, two HHD's mounted on mobo.

Great minds.....

Im actualy doing this myself but with a Mini ITX mobo with a integrated Atom cpu, giga byte make one and its about £60. You can get very small psus aswell where the power use is so low.

micro ATX 939, perhaps a gigabyte board

a gig + ram

a HD3450, or similar, low profile card

then one of those miniture psu's, perhaps from a shuttle?

Breakdown of hopeful components.

XBOX Case.

2 X 2.5" HHD.

DVD drive.

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3450 Silence "Low Profile".

Mobo. -----.

PSU. -----.

Wireless Card.-----.

Im going integrated as its just for streaming movies and music for me, might get a half height gpu when HD is more mainstream but for now it works fine.

That's cool. :D

Use a smaller cpu heatsink, and maybe make a mesh thing in the back, and add an exaust fan like the XBox 360/ a regular PC has.

Also, use Intel, AMD sucks.
