Xbox One Wireless adapter for PCs will come out next week

They sure do lol. I did some scanning about and I can't find it here in the UK so I guess it's US only on Bethesda's online shop.

I could get a mate out there to buy it for me and send it over though, would probably cost me around the same as buying one here..

But you know me i don't really like game brand things, i would rather just own the plain looking item.

Not sure I can see MS making drivers for Linux...

Maybe a third party can.

More worried about windows 7, I looked at the link you posted previously and they are only drivers for wired not for the wireless, some are claiming the wireless dongle is limited to W10 on a hardware level, I hope this is not the case

To be honest if you are gaming on a PC you really should be using Windows 10 any way. However, I would imagine most of that talk is scare mongering and it will work fine with 8/7 etc.

Why? DX12? I dont own a single game that uses it nor have I seen or heard of any upcoming title that interest me that uses it? Gaming performance? From everything i've seen and read its more of the same maybe a frame or 2, I can live with that ,Compatibility with modern and older titles? W7 has it beat(granted for now but I dont see that changing any time soon), so under what circumstance for gaming would I want to update to W10? Some proprietary peripherals from MS?ill pass tah :)

Let's not forget the old addage "if it ain't broke"

Windows 7 is broke. That's the problem. It does not work with more than 4 threads very well and then you have to start running core parking hacks and so on.

It's not just that either. Windows 8 and 10 have massively improved structures to do with Games For Windows.

So you'll pass? that's entirely up to you really dude.

I won't disagree with you however I have zero issues on W7, not a single game with performance issues granted I play 1080p with an OC'd CPU so maybe im just brute forcing the issues I have no idea but again no issues with performance for me :)

I don't use GFWL in fact the only game I have that uses it is Fallout 3 but I use the disabler for that, for myself personally I cant find a single reason to update other than "new shiny" (tried on my GF's laptop its aiight dont mind the UI etc)

If and when there is a tangible benefit for me of course I would jump ship, i'd like to think I'm reasonably pragmatic, but I just dont see it yet.

Yup, I even disabled all the "reserve your upgrade now" crap, I dont care if I have to buy it when the time comes for now and the foreseable future I'll pass :)

Back on topic ; I hope your right and the talk of W10 exclusivity for the wireless dongle is just scaremongering, even though my PC is 35cm from me i'd still like to reduce cable clutter as much as possible.
