I was wondering , is it possible to connect an Xbox 360 controller to a wifi module? I own an ASUS P8Z77 V-PRO and I'm not sure if I can use it to do that. And If is possible can someone tell me how?

P.S not sure if it's the right category posted

I know, but my questions is if I can use it with my wifi module.

and as i said, it needs to connect to their module it maybe on 2.4Ghz but between the receiver and the controller you will also need software, due to the tight bandwidth it operates on. and i also thought it was a variant of blue tooth not wifi, but i might be mistaken

No it can't.

The only way to do it is through the adapter - and to be honest, I'd only consider this at all if you're playing racing games or something similar, or maybe RPG like Assassins Creed or Bioshock (I don't class Bioshock as an FPS at all...)

If you play any kind of multi-player FPS with the controller, you won't stand any chance whatsoever. The response time is far too slow with it on PC, and the games just won't be worth playing.

i have the wired controller for window ad the cable is huge with a quick disconnect. so its a fairly good piece of kit i got it even tough i have 4 360 controllers lol. it recommend it. the wired not wireless. too much hassle

That being said. Using the plug and charge kits (i.e. Nikon Rechargeable Kits) will not work. You have to either buy the wireless adapter or get a wired controller.

PS3 Dualshock 3 pad > Xbox 360 pad for the PC :) The 360 pad uses Infared, what is this, 1995?

I use a Dualshock 3 pad on my PC with a bluetooth dongle, there is no lag with that. I don't play FPS games with it though. But for driving, fighting and 3rd person shooters and action games it works great.

Obvious troll.
Only the 360 Media Remote uses infrared.
The controller is on 2.4GHz and please don't even start on the ergonomics of the PS3 pad.

Hmmm, just checked and seems I was wrong  the PC receiver is a wireless 2.4ghz signal. Someone I know bought a wireless 360 pad a while ago and told me it was infared... never questioned it though because i've never had any interest in one.

Oh well, looks like you will be okay with a 360 pad.

Not a troll  just misinformed.

And ergonomics of the PS3 pad comes down to personal preference. Personally, I don't like the huge 360 pad and like the smaller PS3 pad.

Indeed, personal preference as I like the 360 controller because it's big and gives me more space for my thumbs.

What a load of shit. lol
I play with a controller and when a game supports it (like every AAA title i've played), it works just like it would on an XBOX.

Yes! :)

And by the way... I'm sure i read that they use their own proprietary signal and hardware. A wired (not cable kit) controller will work, or get the dongle (I paid like £4 on ebay).

yeah i might get one but for now i have a wired one, but i got given it after a friend failed to change the leds and he melted the bonding agent between the copper track and the pcb, i have a conductive paint pen, so i will open another controller and try to recreate the track after cleaning the pcb up. and i think i have some blue smds so i could do the job he failed to do lol

mouse + board would win over a controller. i use my xbox controller for GTA 4/ skyrim them sorts of games.

Not at all from my experience.

Battlefield 3, along with most of the recent CoD games that support controller had noticeable lag time in playing - and also aiming could just never be as accurate as on keyboard and mouse.

If this hadn't have been the case, I'd still use a controller as I do find it more comfortable.

I'll use it for games like AC, but any online FPS and you're just dead in the water if you use a controller.

Not if the game supports it :/
By "supports" i mean it has the same response and software tweaks or whatever as the console versions making it practical. As soon as you have to map it yourself it sucks ass.

Go load up Crysis with a controller, then something like PlanetSide. You'll notice Crysis behaves like a console, and Planetside sucks ass.
