Apparently, two models will be released, both 512MB DDR3. The XT model will have a core clk of 625MHz and memory of 725MHz , The X1900XTX will run at a core of 650MHz and memory of 775MHz.

If the specs are correct, both cards has 48 pipelines and are priced at 629€ (£460) and 719.00€ (£500) respectively. Both cards should be available after 24 Jan 2006.

Clocks not as high as first anticipated for the core but the overcloking options on the R520 were sublime - no doubt we will see the same plethora of options for this baby too.

That's correct - sorry the translation to english is might not be clear on that - unless if course they are now called vertex shading pipes??

Thinking about it, could Probs be some clever marketing interpretation by ATI - so when someone looks at the retail boxes of the X1900 and the G71 it would appear that the X1900 has more pipes than the Nvidia units.

rofl £500... shove that ...

You can get a fairly decent complete PC for that price!

Any ideas on how these will compare to that new Nvidia card due at the end of Feb?

Oh joy, something tells me we are gonna see 1 huge price tag on GFX from now on. Crossfire would be £1k just for the GFX ALONE with those cards, that's just silly money. You could buy nearly 3 GTX's for that!!

I agree, I thought the price of the 7800GTX was a bit on the high side! Surely they should just drop the prices of the older models rather than keep ramping them up for every new thing they chuck out? Soon we'll be paying near a £1000 per card at this rate :O

If card prices go over £500 I doubt I'll be buying new again unless it's got something AMAZING! When I say amazing I mean like a Phys-x chip built in or something lol.

I have limits with these things, i've already said i will never go the dual card route just for the expense, and will never pay more than £350 for a single card (though i cant pay anything like that atm with student life).

I dont think anything over £500 could be amazing enough to make me buy it, it would be so exclusive to the crazy high end that the features wouldnt appear in many places for a long while, which means i could wait and get it cheaper later.
