Wtf has happened to the Blitz?

One of the most renowned and sort after boards and its disappeared form the face of the retail world!

I can understand that on release they'd sell out left right and center, but i would have thought that by now they'd be some floating about? They're even still selling commandos.

I know maximus is just around the corner, just thats not out now. If people want to buy now they're just going to go for a DFI or IP35-Pro = asus losing out.

WtF:eh:

/confused rant over

Demand is totally outstripping supply.

Asus have a shed load of back orders, stock being produced is going to them. There are places to get them if you look around. Novatech got mine out to me in less than 12hrs when I ordered. Decent service tbh.

It is strange though, really nice mobo.

Must be due to x38 maximus as you mention.

They're still out there in some places.

For example i bought mine from here a week ago - Novatech

And Aria had some in a week ago too.

LOL - Dude you even quoted me saying I got mine from Novatech and then said you can get them at novatech!

I just read the maximus is delayed until end of Dec 07, glad i didn't wait

Hah can't believe i did that :duh: now i look like an idiot... lol

Yea great service from them, i ordered friday and payed for it to be delivered the friday after, it came Monday :D awesome TBH.

That's a hell of a set backon the Maximus, perhaps then they will up the production of the Blitz until then.

Im wondering if Asus have kept supply's low to keep the price up. A company of they're scale shouldn't have a problem adapting too high demand really.

unless there's some super rare component on it.

160quid, didn't think it was that expensive? Though I havn't looked for a new mobo for a good few months now.

Looks to be a damn solid board though. And by Mr Smiths benches recently I am sure it is a good clocker. ;)

Well the IP35-Pro is £120, The DFI bloodiron just a bit more iirc. The P5K-E is basicly the dlx and can be had for under £100. And its simple supply and demand, it'll start at £160 and creep up the more scarce they become.

Im prob just being ott, but its annoying trying too chose out the top boards when you cant even get hold of one of them.

Mate, you can have one next day for £170... you got linked in previous posts!

I think it is more expensive due to the rog features...

It does also come with 3DMark06 (full) S.T.A.L.K.E.R game and kaspersky AV. The Crosslinx would add price too but take off 30 for a waterblock and it's a reasonably priced board.

If you want to overclock the Blitz is the best. The P5K boards have SATA issues.

The price point was that technology depreciates stupidly fast, but keeping such a hot product in short supply will stall its initial depreciation, if only for a little. Theres nothing wrong with the actual price of the board atm, as as i said im prob being ott and theyre just in short supply of a component or 3.

Anyone seen a direct comparison with the Blitz and IP35-Pro?

No mate, haven't seen any P35 round-ups or anything like that.

If you are in no rush for a mobo wait for the x38/48's to come out, then you can get one of those or a p35 that would have dropped in price

Yoyotech are saying that the Abit IX38 QuadGT will be £147 incl. VAT & the IX38-MAX £160 incl. VAT.

You can also find the Gigabyte X38-DQ6 for ~£150.

Think that if I was going to spend £160 on a mobo that I would rather it be on an X38.

The performance gain is pretty minimal by the looks of reviews so far. The Blitz probably overclocks alot better then those too. Unless you deperatly want something X38 offers then P35 is a better choice.

I've seen a screenie of 6x636 on an X36 - don't think that I've seen one from a Blitz with that high fsb yet.

X38 so far looks to be basically a P35 with an extra x16 PCI-E bolted onto the northbridge.

But who needs FSBs that high?

I think the same, and it's more heat.

I sure don't but I was just replying to your "The Blitz probably overclocks alot better then those too."

From what I understand Penryns & fast DDR3 will start to show separation between P35 & X38.

i was looking at one of these boards, but i think with x48 around the corner and intel's new CPU's coming Q1 that i'm going to hold off and see what's happening then.

Word on the grapevine has it that the IX38-MAX is/has been shelved and that early 2008 will see a IX48-MAX instead.
