World in Conflict...

Ok went out n bought the collectors edition (simply because i spotted it first and hmv aren't all bad)

anyway played the tutorial, started the single player campaign and omg..

its glitching and artifacting all over the damn place?!

it comes and goes but its that triangles into infinity spazzing out all over the place crap it seems fine at first, but then goes crazy, then calms down then does it again then will just freeze up completely...

:( whats going on!? i've seen this before when i had a cheap psu back in the 9800 days and learned my lesson, but my psu shouldn't be a problem (580w tagan 2force) and heat isn't an issue as its topping around 72 which is well within spec of the 8800...

i've updated to the latest driver nvidia have to offer but still no luck :( even tried downing the resolution (even though it was handling it fairly well at the resolution it was at) it doesn't seem to be performance issue as it still running smooth, just covered in triangles :(

any help/suggestions chaps?

i'm guessing the choices are waterblock for the gfx card, (or rma) or a new psu? but its odd as it doesn't do it in anything else? etqw runs beautifully *sigh*

any more info needed gimme a shout

SuB :(

Aye sounds like overheating, what temp was she running?

Try running RTHDRIBL and Rivatuner to monitor temps and see how it goes

ah ok cool

i just tried the multiplayer against some AI and it ran perfectly no graphical glitches, it did crash but i was playing for a while before that happened god damn this game is beautiful lol

I might get it :) I love COH and this seems akin to that... Bioshock is gorgeous. I think I might get Vista just to see it in dx10 :D

So you'd recommend it?

P.S I would have linked you to rthdfdfgdhhhdjs but my work blocked it :)

still glitching but i think its temperature related so i think its waterblock time...

if you have ever played ground control or ground control 2... you will absolutely LOVE THIS GAME!!! its very very similar which is awesome massive graphics like being able to see what i'd call almost fps model detail in an rts its just stunning

still no luck.. i'm considering vista :S thats how bad i want to play it!! and dx10 will be awesome too... hmmm what dya think?

I read in a magazine that the DX10 version of World in Conflict looks exactly the same as DX9.

In fact they said that if it wasn't labeled differently they wouldn't notice the difference. :eh:

ive seen some screenshot comparisons and the sky is just breathtaking with dx10

yea its slaughtering mine atm lol don't worry

i just installed ground control 2 hehe oh the memories

This game runs great on an x2 3800+/2g w/7600GT. @ 1680x1050.

However, I find the campaign very frustrating. It`s pulling u over the map to show u stuff, rotates u around.

The controls suck!

.. can`t think of anything else...

Other than that it`s ok.

did you try and update the game since you have an original version you can update through the game when clicking on MP

I run it alll full 4 x aa @1280*1024 min fps 10 max 45 but i dont care if it goes down to 10 the water effects and explosions are worthed

I have to run at medium :(

Kicks arse although its annoying when you find yourself coming from one side of the map to the next to defend some points from 20 odd russian tanks :'/

Am seriously tempted to get this game....anyone know if it's SLi compliant? I am keen to get that eye candy cranked up as much as possible!

I'm usually an FPS man but this is looking good....

Is it worth the outlay?

Bought it, installed it, started playing the tutorial... My system can't run this game @ 1920x1600 with high settings so I reduced the res to 16xx by whatever, still not smooth. Took it back :(

Swapped it for Airborn which is average at best, but I'm noticing artifacts so something is up! W00t. Dontcha love pc's!

This game looks amazing though :(

if you have played any of the ground control games from Massive its like that, ability to zoom alll the way into units, battles go on for ages due to the way the re-inforcements work its fantastic, only with 100x more detail and a MUCH better engine, it's beautiful. worth every penny you spend just to see it :) hehe

I'll double check to see if there is an SLi setting in the options anywhere for you tonight if i remember

Nice one SuB, would be good to put the GTXs through their paces and am interested if it would allow me to run the game at 1920x1200 with the settings turned up.
