Winnies safe for sub-zero yet?

Hi all

First of all as this is my first post, I should introduce myself. I am actually a regular on the O-CuK forums, as are some of the poeple on here. Been overcloking for a while now and currently run on water with a LRWW setup. All on an XP-M and 9800XT at the moment.

I am in the process of planning a move to phase-change over the next month.

Thanks to advice from Phil I think I have settled on a Mach II GT for my humble needs, but I am still uncertain as to the processor.

I am mainly a gamer, so A64 is for me, but I keep hearing that there are issues with the Winchester cores at sub-zero temps. Some say this is due to mobo bios', but others say its down to the chip design. I also hear that it only affects certain chips....

Rumours were about recently that were saying that a newer updated version of the Winchester was being made and that the sub-zero temp issue would be gone...

So is any of the above true? Or am I looking at a chip based on 130nm to be certain of being able to use it on a Mach II?

Cheers

Prom

As far as I know it still isn't sorted for the msi neo2 plat some people have managed to get it working but can not pinpoit how they did it I got a 3000 and went through all the available bios's at the time up to 1.3b8 or something and couldnt get mine to work so I bought a newcastle 3500 it does 11 x 230 on stock volt if I push it it will play games at 2860 it will bench but not stable it will also screenshot at 3jig and have just purchased a fx55 as they are still 130nm:D

some one told me there are new winchester cores coming out that might just solve the problem ,worth looking into

Yeah I think its worth looking as under phase they should clock like a barstool just got to make sure you get a good one when I got my winnie I think it was one of the latest out but I didn't have the time to fart about exchanging chips I needed my pc just to work so I got my N/C chip
