Well, I had installed my new SATA drives (found out that 2 of them were SATAII :D ) but when I tried to install the Windows XP Professional w/ SP2, it copies the files fine, but when I do the actual installation, I get an error saying that one of the files isn't confirmed right or something. its like, d:\window\1386\etc.... (I think...). Anyone have this problem before and know what to do? I'm trying to install on the SATAII's in RAID0

Well, I tried another CD today and it had the same problem. The following message comes up:

***

Error:

SXS.DLL: Syntax error in manifest or policy file "D:\1386\asms\10\msft\windows\gdiplus\gdiplus.man" on line 4

***

Error:

Installation failed: D:\1386\asms.

Error Message: A component's file does not match the verification information present in the component manifest.

Fatal Error:

One of the components that windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.

End message...

Any ideas people? Is the NVidia RAID controller bad in some way? Is it better to use the Silicon Image controller? I really want to get this done so please help :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Well, I've pretty much established that the problem is with the RAID, not the HDD's or the install disk. I did the setup process on each of the drives separately and it worked, so there is some problem with having them in a RAID setup. Any ideas people?

Run the manufacturers utility on both of the disks seperately to see if either are bad. If one/both are then RMA

If not then re-build the RAID array and make sure you have the RAID drivers disk when you try to install winblow$

A ful format and install is called for mefinks :(
