Windows not loading...

I have flashed my Mach II with Firmware 798 OK. My problem now is Windows will not load. The system doesn't shut down or anything like that - my monitor light just flashes indicating no OS after I get the Windows XP logo and the blue bars indicating Windows is loading. I think it's about 2 - 3 seconds after boot sequence starts.

I then hold the power button for 4 secs and the systems shuts down and Mach II goes into hibernation mode (green light flashing).

I have flashed to Firmware 821, checked the connection to the heating element to the Chip Controller and reversed the yellow/yellow power cord than connects to the MOBO.

Any suggestions?

Specs:

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe

AMD Athlon 64 4000+

2 G OCZ PC3200

WD 74G 10K RPM HD

600W CoolerMaster PS

The only change I made since my past boot was adding a USB PCI card.

Thanks for all you help Mav!

I removed the USB PCI card and the issue still remains.

I also noticed that while I am in the BIOS the system completely shuts downs and the Mach II enters hibernation mode.

I was wondering if this might be the issue:

I installed firmware 821 on the Mach II using a different system. I noticed the 1st time I booted up the Mach II with my system it had to cool down to -56 before booting up. Now of now the Mach II boots up at -33. I am wondering if my system thinks the Mach II as not reached its boot temp and is powering the system down?

For kicks, tried booting windows from the CD and the system still shut down.

does it still work if u go back to air?

There is a possibilty that your CPU is cold bugged - try boosting the volts up to 1.55v on the vcore and then boosting the FSB/HTT up to 240 (drop the LDT mutlipier to 800 or x4) and see if that cures it.

Well, when u remove the mach head to go mack to air - clean teh CPU off and post your CPU numbering on this thread we can check to see if it is bugged or not.

Cold bug is when the CPU reaches a certain temperature it wont run properly.

Cheers

Mav - still no dice! :(

Now I left the BIOS screen on to see if the system will hang - it won't.

I know it's a clawhammer - but what numbers do you need?
