i have just got the new NFS most wanted. but 1min after loading it windows brings me out of the game, asks me do i want to disable aero. etc. says performance is low... i dont know how win7 thinks that. i have not got a low end system/. i mean cmon., a 2gb 7870, 8gb of system ram, 2500k @4.3ghz. even when running a game it should have more than enough grunt to run aero. the other annoying bug is once this happens it puts my game in windowed mode, and the game has no setting for windowed mode meaning i have to quit the game and re launch it. really annoying, the other issue with this game is every few mins the game will sort of slow down for a mo, then speed back up, the game seems to have 60fps capped always, it never drops below that, even during the slowdowns

To get rid of the annoying error message go into Action Center and untick Windows Troubleshooting.

also, on the link to the game you want to run...
right-click-->properties-->compatability... check disable visual themes

thanks for that tip, didn't know about it.
but it doesnt explaing why i am having this issue, also, the other issue i mentioned about the game slowing down. monitoring with afterburner the gpu usage drops to 60% and fps does drop, a lot. is this just a driver bug cos the game only came out yesterday?
EDIT: just tried this setting like you said, but to no avail.

I have the exact same specs as you but on Windows 8 catalyst 12.11.thanks for that tip, didn't know about it.

Yeah I get slowdowns too the game was just released next Catalyst drivers should have performance increase for this game
btw really annoying that this is only Direct X 10.. Surely if this was DX11 we wouldn't be seeing so much slow down

Btw you don't have to quit the game and start it again to get fullscreen, just do alt + enter

Yeah it does look great but this is a driving game there are alot of round objects in racing games. If this was DX 11 everything would be tessellated meaning better performance for us :lol:

tbh though I really liked the atmosphere of the PS2 Most Wanted more.. Actually wasn't it released on 360 as well? :lol:
But yeah it was getting stale EA really milked the franchise at that point.

i tried to find it but couldn't find any option to disable it... kinda got a bit used to the non areo interface now tho. nice and retro!!

On the Control Panel it will probably be on Category View by default. On the top right choose small or large icons and Action Center will be the first option:
