Windows 8 & Motherboard Drivers/Updates

Anyone been able to install drivers for there Asus motherboard (P8Z77-V) using windows 8 OS? For instance I upgraded my bios to the most recent Asus version (1908) from there website, after install my computer ran glitchy as hell, would crash randomly, mouse wouldn't work, super slow loading time, just overall totally unstable. Same thing with the drivers, all the drivers on the support disk will flat out not work and just tries to restore the system and then removes the drivers. As for the most recent drivers/updates from Asus website, they will run but again super glitchy with random crashing, super slow and for some reason my mouse losses power...wtf! Anyways I downloaded the old (1805) bios and it is working more then fine again with no Asus drivers installed but now I notice my sata controller is reporting a "fail to start I/O sata controller" but above it in the device manager it also says device is working properly??? If I can just get the sata controller fixed @ this point, I guess that will be good enough.

Chipset drivers wont install and puts it into a system restore and again this is the latest chipset driver from Asus on there website. None will work, Ive reinstalled the old 1805 bios and will try to install one driver from there website and if it doesn't work Ill be taking this absolute garbage back.
 
That's what I was going to do but people and Asus told me I need to download the Asus drivers to use the full functionality of the board. What is the point in buying a board if I cant use the features it comes with. I called Microsoft and ofcourse they said it is fine and to just leave it but everyone else tells me I need the drivers???
 
Well all the features that come with the board chipset, quick boot, sata controller "that is currently reporting a fault" everything on Asus website. All the drivers that go with any motherboard.
 
If I could get the chipset drivers & sata controller driver to work that would be good enough. Sata controller is showing a failure to start I/O error, but system does run fine other then that.
 
Yeah, maybe wait for another BIOS update before making a decision. Unless you have to send the board back within a certain time period?

Ive been on the phone with them for the last week about the problem, it just ends up going no where but they are trying to help me, I just never had this much trouble installing drivers.
 
Hey thanks for your replies guys I appreciate it, like I said Ill reinstall the old bios (1805) then try to say install the chipset driver if that doesn't work Ill take the whole thing back and let them sort it out.
 
Its to the point where I will wipe the system clean with a fresh install of windows 8 and then download all 41 updates from Microsoft before I try anything. I even flashed the bios again and then would try to download a single driver but still wouldn't work. I have no idea at this point!

For the bios, I download the zip file from Asus, unzip the file and put it on a memory stick or flash driver. Reboot to get into the bios and use the flash utility in the bios to load, when finished loading the bios the system reboots and is fine. Then I go back to Asus website put all the proper information in along with windows 8 64 bit version and find the drivers that I need for my system and download a single driver. Again unzip the file and run setup, it will finish installing the driver then want to reboot but when restarting it will crash and say something like windows failed or something along those lines and want to do a 20 min restore. After the system restore its glitchy as hell and I have to reinstall the whole thing again.

Sata and USB - if they're anything like mine, you should have one running Intel USB3 and SATA, and another Marvell.

Which one isn't working, do you know?
