Windows 8.1 problem

downloaded 8.1, and for some reason CCC 13.11 v2 drivers have gone, and dont show in MSI afterburner.

So i went to AMD site and they dont show up for 8.1 just 13.9, i download that and then windows update finds WDD 1.3, so i install that and then i seam to loose CCC again.

I fi then re download CCC, windows update finds WDD 1.3 again.

Very odd, whats going on?

i had a similar problem with the 8.1 upgrade and it wanting to install the latest nvidia drivers. (which i still find slightly buggy).

so, after the lengthy upgrade... i decided to uninstall all the rubbish drivers that 8.1 installed and used the drivers that i used with 8.0.

TIP: on my RAID storage drive i have a folder called Emergency Backup... and in that folder i have other folders called winXP, win7, win8, and now win81. i use these folders to store all the drivers that are needed for that particular OS to run smoothly. now, when i have to run an OS in a virtual machine (for programming and debugging), i now exactly which drivers work the best and can find them straight away. ;)

a great tool to perform a thorough uninstallation of apps and drivers is called Uninstall Tool. often the uninstalling process does not delete registry files and leaves orphan files on your system.... this tool solves this.

it is FREE, and be downloaded from CNET here.... http://download.cnet.com/Uninstall-Tool/3000-2096_4-10662647.html
