Windows 7 netbook help

Hello all, got my netbook today with windows 7 pre installed.

If I boot it up from cold it normally goes to the loading bar and fails to boot.

Then it reboots and offers the "safe mode/start windows normally" screen, so if I select start windows normally it again usually fails to boot.

If I select safe mode it often fails to boot to that. Sometimes it gets there.

It also keeps offering the startup diagnostic screen, which fails to assist either.

Once in a blue moon it boots to desktop but BSOD's if I try and do anything.

I reckon this is a bad OS install? Corrupt registry or similar. Obv being a netbook it has no cd/dvd drive and I dont have a USB cd or DVD drive.

Any opinions on what I can do to make it work without spending any money on a USB cd drive? I really dont want to format but I fear I may have to.

Any help much appreciated.

You just got it, send it back.

Failing that, put the OS on usb drive and boot from it or pull out the drive and go from there but being new i would say option one really mate

I bought it off ebay. Currently speaking to the seller about it.

I am not sure if it is an OS issue after all. When it booted to the desktop last time it sat there for one minute then randomly restarted. This is similar to what my main rig did when it had a faulty PSU.

I reckon I will see what I can do about formatting, but I'll make it very clear to the seller that if it still has problems then I expect a refund.

Regards
