By restricting continuous use of Windows 7 Beta to just two hours per session, Microsoft is hoping to force users to switch over to fully paid license versions.

True, but that's not going to last too long either. That too will go into expiry mode soon as the final release hits retail.

It is going to go into expiration mode in march, the RC that is. It will then stop working all together in June

Believe microsoft said something about that on the download page and the emails they sent, but I can't find it in any of them :/ Guess you are right then, but at least it'll save me the horror of switching back to Vista.

Win7 is the first MS OS in ages that I actually enjoy. I'd be sad to go back to XP now, whereas Vista made me go back almost that afternoon.

Heck, I might even splash out on it, which would be a miracle :D

as long as you dont mind ur date being wrong try takin the date back to march 2000 your win7 will last ten years (dont quote me on it but when i put the date forward it said my win7 copie had expired and i had 3 days to add a valid license key so makes me think that if you put the date back it might still work!)

but i will buy win7 anyway!!

if i remember correctly it reads your bios date not windows date

Window's gets the date from the BIOS. And I'm pretty sure setting it in windows actually sets the BIOS date anyway.
