Windows 10 Boot Issues with RIVBE

Hi all, I'm having issues since i upgraded to Windows 10

When i boot the pc it posts fine and goes to code AA as normal, the windows spinning circle starts and just before the login screen appears the entire PC shuts down and starts to boot again after a few seconds. It will go through this cycle twice and on the third time the windows repair screen comes up advising it could not repair the pc. Rebooting after this screen Win10 boots fine and works. I have taken a few steps to try and sort out ->
1. Installed all new Win10 drivers from ASUS support site
2. Disabled fastboot in both OS and BIOS
3. Upgraded GPU drivers to latest Win10
4. Ran sfc /scannow (1st time found and fixed corrupt files but all since find no violations)
5. Ran chkdsk -r no issues found
6. Performed clean install with only standard install drivers, same issue
7. Installed all updated drivers on cleqan install, issue remains

I re-imaged Win 8.1 and the issue is not there so i can rule out bad PSU etc

I contacted Microsoft and am still waiting on a response.
I contacted ASUS support who say the issue is with Windows 10 and i should just stay on Win 8.1 until MS patch the OS

My system spec is as follows:
Rampage IV Black Edition(Bios 0801)
Core i7 4960X
16GB HyperX Beast 2400OC
ASUS Matrix R9 280X
Coolermaster V1000
Samsung 840 SSD(OS)

I was just wondering if any other RIVBE owners have had similar issues upgrading to Win10.

Many thanks!!

Had a similar issue but I couldn't get to the desktop no matter how many times I tried. It would go black after windows login and crash. This happened a few days after the upgrade. I then did a recovery/fresh install and for now it's been fixed. My explorer used to be laggy as hell too but that's been fixed with the fresh install as well. I'm using a RVE mobo but the problem is with MS imo.

got an RIVBE as well but no issues either with upgrade or upon doing a clean install. I did go to asus's site prior and downlaod their win10 beta drivers

It probably won't work but try downclocking your CPU as low as it will go and run your RAM @1600mhz to see if it will get you onto the desktop.

Huge thanks for all the replies ;) . I believe the issue may now be resolved but i will keep testing as the week goes on.

I removed the battery as per suggestion by Thelosouvlakia and left it out for 60 mins then reinserted, upgraded to windows 10 again and issue seems to be gone :biggrin3: I will leave X.M.P turned off (1333MHz) for the next few days and turn it back on to 2133MHz and hopefully will work away fine. It must have been just a dodgy BIOS setting, well hopefully anyways.

Many thanks again :)
