Hi, Installed the folding client again & exactly the same thing happened as last night, 100% CPU usage and PC freezes up? Does anyone have some settings or advice on how I can stop this happening please??

can you please post a list of your system specs so we can better help you. Also run a program like HWMonitor to see what sort of temps your cpu is hitting, it might just be that it is getting too hot!

Hi, my spec I7 3820, Rampage iv extreme, AX1200, Corsair vengeance 16gb 1600Mhz, GTX 590 x2 quad sli, all watercooled with alphacool blocks, 1 x 420 rad, 1 x 360 rad Alphacool dual bay rad 2 x d5 pumps. When I first installed the folding running @ 4.1, last night tried at 3.8 temps never go over 50c

Hi, According to the research I did no, that is not the idea. Wikipedia says it will run in the background? I also followed links to a guy at Stanford university and he also said something along those lines. What is the point in having a PC that you can only use when you are not folding? Regards

What client are you using? I can use my PC just fine while folding and so can most other people. I have been using the same PC for nearly a year now whilst folding at the same time.

Hi, Fah-7.1.52 x86 as soon as the program starts my pc becomes unresponsive. Thanks for the reply

what i mean is, when your not using the PC it will use 100% of the CPU, but as soon as you use it for say playing a game, it will use the CPU to run the game first and whatever the game isn't using the folding client will use, so technically still running at 100%.

i know what i am trying to say, just isn't coming out as i want it, been up for 36 hours now

LOL the research you did...... You must have found all the incorrect data on the internet then.

The fact its freezing (if it actually is and not just running slow because its doing other things) means your overclock is unstable - ie: pants.

Hi, I know the feeling of no sleep, I am lucky to get two or three hours a night. Thanks for the input

Please accept my apology. I was replying to two separate posts, or at least I thought that is what I was doing. Where do I find "edit."

Anyway in the land of back on topic, isn't there a slider in the advanced tab of the configuration menu on the V7 client that allows you to set a CPU Percentage Usage.
