Just curious as to how many people here actually enjoy their job? If you do, post what it is that you do that makes you like it so much.

I work for UPS and it's so-so. I like it a lot more when I first started and now it's gotten boring, but I certainly don't hate it.

Not me

My job sucks atm. IT Technician and trying to get a better post. Pays ok and I get to surf all day but it's very boring :(

I'm still trying to iron out a job @ the NRA as the web admin for the education & safety department. If and when that happens, I will be a happy man. Suit and tie job, I hate dressing up, but I think the adjusted income will more than make up for my hatred of suits and ties :D hehe

Im sure you'll fit in very well frag:D. I like my job, altho its only 8hrs a week normaly. Work in the local shop.

That's good though, that means it's hard to get burnt out. If I owned my own computer shop (which I'd definately like to do some day) I'm sure after a while I would hate it even though it's a passion. Taking a passion and turning it in to work usually never ends up for the better.

Thats true. Also the people on my shift are good fun, which always helps.

I dont know if you would get tierd of a computer shop, aslong as you got a rig to build & someone to talk too it wld be good. Its when your sitting there doing nothing things get bad.

I love my job because I have none.

My job I find is simply to phase away and keep you guys all updated, so lately I've been doing a very poor job.

Yeah, CHOP CHOP! ;)

I do want some pix of the chiller project though, pronto!

Hahaha chiller's still vaccing,

I'd really like to get a job doing something computer related though.

Rent out a small shop in an industrial park for mad cheap and start building cheap-o phase units for $300-$350 a pop. I'm sure that could keep you busy non-stop.

Nah I like non-production lining for myself and others, keeps the QUALITY up.q

Definately, I respect that decision 100%. I really think you should start making units for people on the regular though.

You have a lot of talent and there's really no one on the east coast building units right now. Shipping units from the west coast is a tad expensive if ya know what I mean.

I'm in highschool taking courses such as physics, chemistry, math etc etc because I would like to become a computer engineer or software engineer.

There's definately a career waiting for you in that field once you get through school. Companies are always in need of skilled engineers. Got any companies in mind that you'd like to work for once you're out of school?

Well I'm not exactly sure of the companies, basically i'm willing to work for any company once I check what they're all about. I'm hoping to get into the university of Waterloo here in Canada, it's the only feeder school in Canada for microsoft and lots of companies look there for new employees

Sounds perfect. My pops used to work for Microsoft as a technical writer (writing the instruction manuals) back in the day, he loved it. Great benefits and a nice job all around. MS is definately a great company to work for.

I'd be interested in seeing what Apple has available for jobs. Would be amazingly fun to be on the R&D team for them since they always have some new gizmo or computer coming out it seems.

I'm a Teacher and I love my chosen vocation because it enables me to form strong friendships with some very passionate and interesting human beings. It also is extremely rewarding in the sense that you get to see people develop holistically, and go on to become successful in their own right. :)

Teachers are such an important occupation. Glad we have them.

It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken

joy in creative expression and knowledge.

Oh man your say right though. Only thing stopping me right now is evaps, I need em cheaper and more of them. :P If I had evaps I could build around 11 units out of parts in the workshop.
