Finally got this thing together. It took forever to get that sleeving done. That single gtx 680 4g looks lonely in there will probably have to add another card to keep him company

Things I still have left to do:

* Add vinyl lettering to window with some kind of blue backdrop

* get a second gtx 680 4g

* waste more time trying to get the wiring to look cleaner

* make a cut out in the front panel and add mesh behind it

* do something with the top sliding grate thing (looks a bit cheap/wierd stock)

It wiill be a while before I get a chance to come back and start working on it again. A lot of work stuff coming up that is going to take me away.

i7 3930k

asus p9x79 mobo

64g g.skill ares 1866

2x 240g intel 520 ssds

2tb wd black hdd

corsair hx1050 PSU

corsair H100 cpu cooler

EVGA GTX 680 FTW 4gb
 
a couple of ideas come to mind.

one is to alter the blue heat sinks on the VRM and chipset (ASUS tile lower right)

since these are aluminum, they are anodized this color (ally dyed). this can easily

be removed by heat, chemical or blasted. youtube has all three about how to remove

anodized color. then either retreat with your specific blue or light paint the heat sinks.

you'll wanna not coat them too thick as they have to capture and discharge the heat

from underneath. and pretty much the same with the ram heatsinks. alternate the

heatsink colors blue and white.

the pci-e sockets are tougher to color change, but can be done.

i see that the concentration of "blue" is pretty much in one spot and the white with

black speckles over powers the much smaller proportion of blue.

what i see is a white case trimed in black with a small accent in blue.

yes, a cable tidy would help a lot.

My build is very close to yours, my 600t SE is black inside though. I wanted blue/white/black but found out black/white/ blue looked way better.

With alot of blue and white it was all too bright and busy, so I started adding more black componets and used the white and blue sparingly.

Install your graphics card then pull all the slack on your cables behind the motherboard and your set!
 
shades dont matter too much, unlness you put white leds in there you wont really see them either, blue leds would look best there.

also CABLE MANAGEMENT oh my goodness i havent seen a rig in such an anarchy before, hx1050 is modular is it not? why? just why?
 
Thanks for the suggestions I think i will probably go with blue leds. And there is no cable management yet. I just had stuff plugged in to check if its all working. Waiting on a 4g gtx 680/670. I also got mdpc on the way. I intend to sleeve the psu. Took a quick picture of it to show color issues .

I think it is the fan cables that are the problem.
 
So I sleeved my first cable today. I did it three times and it still looks like poo. I can't get the heat shrink to look even and smooth. And judging by how long it's taken me to do an easy sata cable I should be finished with my PSU in Q4 of 2016

Got it quicker than I was expecting. Took tomorrow off work to try and finish sleeving so I can finally get this thing together.

How old are evga? For the win, seriously? Name aside it should be a great card.
 
As others have said, sort the cabling out and you will see a massive improvement. I think of cable management a bit like my old gran thinks of sewing and needle craft. the job should look as neat on the reverse as it does on the front.

I also think the mix of blus add to the looks rather than detract.

your attemt at sleeving is admirable. sata is about the hardest to sleeve due to the varience in size the heat shrink has to cope with.

there really only one thing to remember. TAKE YOUR TIME
