White blank keycaps

Heya guys,

I'm looking for a set of white blank keycaps! I have found these, but with $15 of shipping they would eventually run me €50 which is basically half the price of the keyboard itself, so that's definitely not worth it:

I plan to cover these keys (except for the spacebar which I'm keeping black, although I might also skip the row of numbers along the top, to keep the white bits on the same line, otherwise it'll probably annoy me ):

In the second case, I wouldn't even need a total of 50 keycaps total.
Although a full keycap set isn't bad to have either, and then I might just cover all the keys.

I would like them to be blank, for nice stealth looks :)

Going on a Corsair K70 with MX Browns, so obviously the keycaps have to be for MX switches.

Can anyone point me in the right (preferably cheap direction)? :)

Thanks!

Ducky do engraved keycaps.

Are you going to be sacrificing the back light? Or do you want translucent ones?

Can't find the Ducky keys available anywhere and because it's Ducky I guess they'll be expensive. I don't care much about the backlight as it's red and my entire set-up is black & white with maybe hints of green. Backlight won't help me type at night anyway when they are blank keycaps

I did find these, would they be of terrible quality?

PBT keycaps are nice. For that price it's worth a punt.

Are you very sure you want blank caps? I can touch type but I hated it for gaming, it had a kind of fatiguing effect. I didn't realise I looked as often as I do I guess. Maybe I'm just weird :D

Are you planning to change the black keys too, if not you'll have to make sure the profiles are relatively similar otherwise it could make it very odd. I'm not sure if Corsair use a proprietary profile or not. I tried some KBP caps on my K70 which were also OEM and they didn't fit right at all, combined with the fact they were ANSI not ISO they were basically unusable on it.

Just make sure you get the right layout, spacebar length, profile, colour, material, switch.... I can't see it happening cheaply because you'll probably end up wanting two sets so they match.

Yeah, I'm thinking to keep the original keycaps for the rest, with symbols and everything as I need to check the KB regularly to remind myself where these are.

I don't really use the backlight as the colour doesn't match the rest of my gear at all, and if they're blank keycaps they're not gonna help me typing at night either. But then again I'm pretty sure I can manage regular typing without looking :)

Can't seem to find any proper keycap sets with my exact layout anyway, and I'm not going to spend 2x €50 on keycaps.

Why did they not fit JR? Just different texture, or also different height/slightly off shape? I don't think ANSI vs ISO makes a huge difference on blank keycaps, and I plan to keep most these keys anyway. The @ at is on the 2 key for me anyway, as I set my keyboard settings to US international while typing on a UK layout board.

Only thing I'm worried about is will the cheap caps do cause I don't want to spend €20 on something to toss them out. But I don't want to spend €50 on a full set of which I won't use half the keys either

If your not changing the modifiers etc I suppose you won't care whether it's ISO or ANSI but they obviously have some characters moved around and some of the keys are sized differently. Space bars also vary in length and the K70 is slightly longer than the normal 6.25u

Caps have different profiles and angles and each row varies slightly so that makes for a lot of variables! If you want them to blend seamlessly in to the other keys then you'll want to get it right. When they don't match it can look and feel retarded.

They are definitely those

I do not plan to replace the spacebar and enter keys and such, as I've decided to go with the second mock-up, as the inconsistent lines on the first would make my OCD go mental

I just want that black & white look, but don't want to take the keyboard apart for painting the plate, cause it's the beautiful brushed aluminium. At the same time I think printed white keycaps don't look all that good and I want it to be difficult for other people to type on it ;)

Now the question is... which ones are the one I linked, I can't tell. Can anyone happen to tell from the images?

That's the one that sold the set in the OP. On their own site they're even more expensive and I'd have to buy a full set while there is not even an option for my enter key :(

They aren't definitely the same, but they probably will be similar. I'm just saying be prepared for variances as there are so many different factors. Replacing them all isn't an option as nobody makes a Corsair width space bar. If you had a Ducky or Filco, whatever a more generic mech keyboard that follows ANSI or ISO exactly it's a different story but the Corsair boards are all proprietary and less straightforward to mod for that reason.

I'm not trying to put you off stuff at all but just trying to say you might not get it exactly just so and if you do have OCD then that's a problem. ;)

Well as long as they're not a completely different height and or shape than the rest of the keyboard I'm guessing it'll be fine. I have considered doing one thin coat of white plasti-dip on them if I don't like it to make a rubberized feel (only if I have to though).

I'd rather have you be honest and actually help me than them arriving only for me to notice they don't match, so thanks for that :)

The keys look like they'd fit alright though. They are flat from the side, and the only ones that show a flat top in the side view images that you posted are the kind on my keyboard. The rest all have this dimple.

Worth a shot I suppose?
