Hello,

I have two choices only to choose from

1- Hec cougar 700w cm

2- OCZ Fatal1ty 700w

I read many reviews and some said that the current protection circuit in ocz is not working !! but it has 5 years warranty while cougar has one (in my country)

my pc config:

i7 860

4 gb ram

two sata hard drives

one dvd writer

one xfx gtx 260 (but I may purchase one later)

no over clock now but I may do so later

I also have bad electricity line !! so which one can give me best performance and protection ? and why ?

Note: I know OCZ has bigger and older name than Hec but please tell me your opinion based on the best equipment not the best name

Thanks

The Cougar is good but you have to be sure you get one of the newer ones, the older model that we tested the first time round was pretty bad.

Giving that being a risk I would buy the OCZ 700w if you have to choose from those two that is.

There is we have tested two versions of the HEC 1000w, one was great, one was very bad. Thats why I said you have to make sure you do not get old stock. We also tested the 1000w not the 700w you stated, so I can not really comment on the 700w performance matey hence why I suggested the OCZ.

thanks alot I will get the OCZ, but people said at newegg.com that sparks happen and I am afraid on my motherboard and other components specially that I have bad electricity specially in the summer with all air conditions on !!

also please advice I have APC UPS 500 , can it work with the OCZ beast

sorry that I have many questions

Thanks alot

I cant advise on your UPS Im affraid dude, but I used the OCZ psu in the Hell Fire project (see TTL Customs forum) and it has not missed a beat.

great I am going to buy it

one thing please

I did not get my vga card yet but I like nvidia do you think xfx 260 gtx to be a good choice , I like nvidia and I had bad experience with ATI once :(

another question please what is the VGA called "FERMI" is good ? can it run with this psu ?

Thanks alot

Fermi is not out yet (expect it to be in shops late April/may time). But that psu will power 1 fine.

The 260 is part of the older geration cards, and it was a great card, but you will probably find it wont run the newer games at max settings. It really depends on your budget.

so if I got two fermi I will need at least 1000 , right ?

and my budget is up to $270 , what do you suggest ?

thanks alot

It would be advisable to have more power available for multiple cards yes.

If you are looking for other options look at the Corsair HX850W that will be fine for 2 cards, has been reviewed thoroughly by us and was a very stable psu that Id happily spend my own money on.
