Which online shop ?

I have just read in another thread on here that a lot of people avoid dealing with Overclockers UK.

Personally I have dealt with them for many years and never had any problems, either with deliveries, returns etc etc.

Still, I may simply have been lucky ;)

Anyway, I wonderd which companies everyone else deals with and can recomend as being safe and reliable.

Obviously SpecialTech will be on the list but any others ? :)

p.s. Couldn't decide which forum to post this in so please feel free to tell me where to go ..... so to speak

I know alot of people will disagree but here is exactly what i do when looking for a part.

Overclockers.co.uk

Then Froogle.co.uk to see if I can get it any cheaper

Then Ebay.co.uk to see if I can get it any cheaper still ;)

Again, many will disagree but ebuyer have always been good. However id just tack it on to the bottom of XMS' list.

another vote for ebuyer, a big nono to overclockers.co.uk

seirously, ocuk have some rare parts but are overly expensive and dont give 2 cr@ps about customer service

unlike specialtech and scan :)

Add Dabs on the list to avoid. Customer service is none existent. 'Thanks for your cash, whats that? Your product has broken after 35 days - unlucky - go see the manufacturer - it's quicker'.

Great.

Never had any problems from Novatech. They are just down the road from me so I can save on the delivery cost usually :)

Ebuyer and KustomPC's I've found have been very good aswell.

New firefox says aswell is spelt wrong, and firefox

Had excellent service from Kustom PC, Scan, Overclock and E buyer not tried SpecialTech but that's only because I didn't know of them till recently.

Please be sure not to mix Overclock with Overclockers Overclock are a caring company Overclockers do not give a dam about their customers and lie to them, I cannot stand being lied to it's the worst possible thing to me. If Overclockers sold something for 20 Quid less I wouldn't buy from them.

For those of us on the North American continent, I would suggest Newegg... great selection, low prices, haven't had anything that didn't last 90 days (Enermax 620W psu poofed on me, no rhyme or reason... will never buy their s**t again...), nothing delivered that was broken/damaged.

For more exotic pc components that Newegg doesn't sell, FrozenCPU is pretty good, albeit at a slightly higher price.

Places I avoid because of bad business dealings: X-oxide.com, eXtremePC.com... the former left out a component I ordered two of, the latter pulled the old 'we have it in stock, buy it', took my money, and then told me not in stock (ASUS A8N32SLI mobo)... not cool.

A couple of places here in the USA I like are

SVC.com

Coolerguys.com

They ship FAST and are very reasonable (less$$ on shipping than Newegg)

Yeah Neweggs shipping prices have gone through the roof, very dissapointing. They could at least give a shipping discount on multiple part orders. I find myself shopping more at ZZF than anywhere else these days. I have purchased quite a few things from SVC, mainly cable management parts and cable sleeving bits.

Insight are pretty good, but are expensive.

Misco often have some good deals, as do MicroDirect.co.uk and Komplett can also be useful. But as above, froogle to see if I can get it cheaper, places like "kikatek" and "Lambdatek" etc usually do. I don't bother with ebay tbh.
