Which Motherboard for this build?

I was thinking of an Asus Striker II Extreme 790i Ultra motherboard with the cost being around £280...I've been thinking

I have no desire to run DDR3 ram at the moment therefore is there any point in spending the extra £130 compared to the cheaper £160 Asus Striker Extreme Nvidia 680I???

I'll be running a quad core Q6600 or Q9450 and a 8800GTX, maybe dual when they drop down in price. I might upgrade to a 9800 later in the future.

Not the newest anymore, but its done me proud overclocking me Q66, a very good stable board. With none of that Sli rubbish so it may not be for you

The 680i wont be able to overclock that quad of yours unless your extremely lucky, in which case the overclock will be miniscule.. the only way round this is to go under water cooling on the board, but that means money, bringing the cost upto around the cost of the striker 2..

Dont bother with the 790i unless you NEED sli.. Ide go for an X38 or X48 board.. save yourself some quid
