I recently saw this video in youtube about this Acer monitor: Acer H236HL
And it looks amazing + its IPS!

So choices are:
Acer H236HL
LG IPS235v/LG IPS234v/LG IPS236v

Which one would you suggest?
Budget is max £150
I will be using for normal day to day and gaming, I would say im a midcore gamer.

Any others that you would recommend?
Thanks

PS. I cant seem to find anywhere in the UK that sells the LG IPS range.
PSS. Also what are your thought on input lag on other IPS monitors?

I use the Iiyama X2377HDS.

Every 23 inch IPS panel pretty much uses the same LG IPS panel, so you're pretty much getting exactly the same thing whatever you buy, just with a different bezel and stand.

Go with whichever is cheapest.

I been wanting the Acer H236Hl myself. 10mm bezel can't be beat and a 5ms response time is the fastest i have seen for an IPS monitor.

Dell U2312HM is the most I'd pay for a 23" IPS. They tend to be just over the £150 mark. Worth it I'd say though. Plenty of inputs, usb hub, VESA mounts, can run portrait, base is sturdy and fully adjustable. Also had no issue with lag for gaming whatsoever.

Thanks for all your replies.

Just to make something clear, is Input Lag the same as the Response Time?

No. Input lag is the amount of time it takes for the monitor to respond to the input, ie. how long it takes to start the process of putting the image on the screen after receiving the signal from the gpu.

Response time is how long it takes the pixels to change their colour.

I can also vouch for the quality of the DELL Ultrasharp stuff, great value IPS panels.

Though would low response time mean low input lag too?

And about the Dell IPS, I would love to get one of them but it is indeed too far off my price range.

Low response time does not reflect low input lag. It can have a 20ms input lag but can also have a 1ms response time, meaning it takes 20ms for the monitor to grab the information and send it to the pixels then another 1ms for the pixels to go from one color to the next.

The Acer H236HL seems perfect for the money compared to Dell:)

Yes it is indeed the perfect price. However i game quite alot and im wondering what the input lag on it is like.

Does anybody have any experience with the Acer H236HL whilr gaming or watchih movies; do you notice any kind of input lag?

Input lag is not much of an issue now a days as monitors have gotten much better technically. Tv's are usually the only one these days with low input/response times because they are not meant for gaming: mainly just fast sports but when you sit 10ft away from the screen you won't notice. You will not have an issue.:)

You get what you pay for...... Sometimes it's worth spending a little more and for a IPS monitor it isn't that pricey.
