Looking to get an Ipad 3 when they come out, but bewildered for choice, which one would you guys buy?

Depends on the budget tbh. I would get the wifi version only as I have a phone for 3G and the size would depend on how much money I have.

I never really use 3G so I wouldn't benefit from buying the 3G version. So for me the wifi only version would be better. It depends on an individuals requirements.

If I had to it would be the 32gb wifi + 3g. It all depends on your needs and budget and like yassar mentioned if you already have a 3g device then it kind of cancels out the need of having a 3g version.

I have a 32gb wifi. The only reason I would want the 3G one is because of built in gps, so it would work as an awesome gps device for my car! Apart from that I wouldn't need it for the extra £100 it costs. Also I'm happy with 32, less and with all my music and big apps on there it can fill quite quickly. More and I feel that you would just be filling it for the sake of it

So if I was going to be mobile with the Ipad, 3G would be the way to go?

I'll be going with the 16GB WIFI version myself. I do not put music on my iPad, if I do want to use it to play music at home I stream it using home sharing in iTunes. When I'm out I have my 4S for music. 3G would be nice in some instances, but not worth it for me as there are so many places to use free Wifi now. My 16GB iPad 1 isn't even half full.

I have a 64Gb 4S, I bought 64GB thinking there wouldn't be enough space, there is still quite a bit of space, but I haven't stuck all of my music onto there yet. So for an Ipad, 32gb with only wifi would be the best option?

True, but you can expect the iPad 3 to be a top tablet when it's released.

that i won't argue with

Isn't it one of the few competitively priced apple products as well? I mean we can all agree that the MB Pro is insanely overpriced, but is the iPad more on par with the competition? Isn't a fully optioned galaxy tab more expensive? I am looking to be a detective for LAPD, and i was thinking that it might actually be a nice tool to have a tablet, to take some rudimentary pictures for my own use, to copy down some statements, and to acquire contact info.

Its the only reason I even care at all about tablets. And i have been so happy with all my other Samsung products i was considering giving them a try.

Not really true.. (lets use android) most android tablets are cheaper to make than a Ipad and bundled with a free os but being sold for the same price as an Ipad

As for faster or more power full its hard to say the way android is encoded not every thing takes advantage of the hardware.

Than the life span of android tablets can be short the updates are a lottery system so you could buy a £400 tablet and never see an update and have to rely on some one else to provide you that update.

Than we are onto kernals Android is behind in kernals (bluetooth/wifi/hdmi updates) by about 2 years compared to desktop linux os, Google was offered help to bring Android upto date but Google refused..use so called new updates as a selling point to the general public.

With Google buying over Motorola mobile department, we mite see less updates for other devices and 2 Android mite and I say mite with a pinch of salt could become a closed os like IOS.

If you want a tablet to work out the box go with a ipad bigger the memory the better....If you want to get into coding and open source go with android.

Im a linux user and id rather buy a ipad or a acer w500 and port over linux than use android at this moment.

If you have a decent phone that you can set up as a wifi spot then just get the wifi version and if you need 3g that bad stream it from your phone

I am on about 10GB on my 32GB iPad 2. I only use it at home or someone else's home where there is WiFi and the only time I missed 3G was when there was a powercut xD

ipad 3 been anounced. Its the same dual core, but has a quad core graphics. also screen is 2048 x 1536, which will look simply amazing. however i don't expect it to be much faster than the ipad 2, they claim it to be 4 times faster than the tegra 3 chip (which is quad core) but in what respect and i highly doubt that! It'll basically be an ipad 2 with better graphics, so should run smoother and screen will be alot sharper, thats not to say the screen wasn't bad on the ipad 2.

I for one will not be rushing to get one because of the relatively minor adjustments. Oh forgot to mention the new camera 5mp capable of 1080p, which i suppose is good, but it's not the biggest selling point for me.

nonetheless if one hasn't got an ipad then by all means get the ipad 3, but if you already got an ipad 2, i don't think it's worth the upgrade.
