Which GTX670 to go for?

So my upcoming build/big upgrade/whatever you wanna call it is coming up and i have made up my mind on every component apart from the GPU. I've 100% decided to go for a 670 (unless a good 680 goes on sale for an awesome price) but i can't find one to suit me fully.

The one i like the most is the KFA2 670, but the one and only issue i have with it is that it has a blue PCB so it would look out of place in my rig. However, it's on sale now at overclockers for £318 so i'm tempted to ignore the pcb colour and just buy it.

I'm also eye-balling the Asus DCUii (Non-TOP version), it has a black PCB and a backplate which is awesome and like the KFA2 is super quiet. However, i've seen a lot of horror stories about the cards and how they tend to be a bit on the unreliable side. But i have heard it's mostly the TOP version cards that are unreliable due to their BIOS allowing the card to boost way past their specified clocks, making them unstable. The non-tops are apparently ok but i'm still not sure about them.

Another card i've considered is the MSI Power Edition. It too looks awesome, has a black PCB but the TF IV cooler makes the card sound like it's a plane about to take off. I've lived with a reference 6850 for over a year now and i just can't live with it's noise anymore, so i don't want another noisy card.

So basically i'm looking for feedback on the cards, if anyone has one of them or a similar non-ref 670 let me know your thoughts on it. I'm leaning towards the KFA2, but i have done some research into the non-top asus 670 and they seem ok so i may opt for that. I'm looking for a quiet card that looks good, not too fussed about OC potential as it will still be way more powerful than my 6850. Thanks.

IMO either the KFA2 or the Gigabyte Windforce should be great :)

They are great cards, no doubt about it, i just think the blue PCB would look out of place in my rig. Plus i don't like the look of the gigabyte card as much as the others, it looks ok but the others look better imo. I might just go for the Asus card, i'm just not 100% sure about the stability of them atm, but it does comfort me that the non-top cards are reportedly ok stability wise

Oh, I thought you meant during gaming/idle

I'm sure it's not so bad during gaming, and it would definitely be fine when idle, it's just that the whole dust removal thing would annoy me so much. Every time i start up my PC it would be so loud, which is a shame because that's the only issue i have with the MSI card :(

I have 2 asus gtx670 dc2 non top and there are working great and quiet. Haven't had any issue with them... And the backplate is just eye candy!

If you have a big air cooler the blue doesnt really show on the KFA2. Mine is only really noticeable as I've got the white leds that light everything up in the case.

Just depends if you can justify spending more money just to avoid the pcb colour

The KFA2 is just under £320 and the Asus is £20 more on Amazon so i'd say it's worth it. I'll be using a H100 and also white led's so i'm fearful the blue pcb would show up

Yeh, I'd probably go for the asus then.

I think tbh you'll be happy either way though. I'd say it was worth the extra £20 just for the backplate anyway

Yeah both would be infinitely better than my awful 6850, i just wanna throw it out the window cos it's so loud and hot. Someone remind me to never buy a reference card again, especially an AMD one

Think i'm gonna take the plunge and go for the non-top asus 670. Will report back on the forums at the end of the month or so once all my shiny new components are installed and the rig is up and running . Cheers guys :)

the start up dust removal isn't that bad, it lasts for about 15/20 seconds and I can hardly hear it through my case. The fan noise is also barely noticeable even in demanding games mostly cause the card hardly gets hot.
