Which browser?

Hello everyone,

So I have an interesting thought here and that is what is everyone using in terms of their web browser.

With todays online activites, several social medias massive impact on the daily life of many people around the globe and therefore also the threat of potential hacks etc.

I'd like to ask 2 questions, if you'd like to share it, it's completely free and mostly for fun to see what and why people are using a certain type of browser. Almost the same as why someone would get a certain case, mouse, keyboard, headset etc. In the end, it's down to personal preference and hence being interesting in my opinion.

If you'd like to share and to keep it organized and simple, please do keep this format and answer:

Reason: Explain the reasoning behind for you to use and prefer this specific browser for your needs. Wether it is it's design aspects, performance aspect, privacy or if it has certain features that you like/prefer for yourself.

Chrome
It is clean and fast and lets me use addons and ad blockers.

Also you Pale moon, for when I need security

None of them, I use Vivaldi. Great customisation options, fast too and doesn't crash all the time like Firefox.

Brave, Chrome for my professional/dev stuff, and then Chromium/Brave on my Linux Laptop(Brave sync is disabled as it was buggy so I use Chromium to transfer my data around when I need to)

Reason: Brave is my go-to. Has all the privacy stuff from Chrome removed. Open Source and its built-in ad blocker is faster than an extension in Chrome. Of course have the websites I like removed from ad blocks. In combination with using Cloudflare DNS its more secure than just using Chrome by itself. I do plan on adding a VPN through my router but that's a future project. VPNs are also not all that generally useful for privacy(despite popular belief) but better than nothing.

Chrome. It is fast, stable and I have a range of extensions that I use that have no good alternative on others. I did try Opera and Firefox recently but they are just so different from Chrome and I had a really hard time adjusting to new interfaces. Muscle memory is a bit*. Also not having extensions that I use ed me off. I do want to explore Brave or similar ones that offer more privacy.

I use Chrome mostly and I have ublock origin and I whitelist my favs and https everywhere installed and everything seems to work pretty well

Recently switched from Chrome since the past few months to Firefox. Chrome is so bloated in comparison now.

I know, but I can't be bothered to experiment. I need to read reviews, forums, etc... But I just can't. Will do. Some day.

From all those evil companies that want to have my data I sort of chose Google to give them some of my data. I use Google Drive instead of Dropbox. Facebook has nothing on me except the email address that I use for spam, and a few pictures some people tagged me in. My Instagram account is empty. I don't have an Amazon account. Microsoft has no clue that I exist.

After 20 years on the internet, my brain evolved into a perfect adblocker. I do use one just for convenience and I have disabled it for OC3D but I have no clue what they are showing. My brain just passively filters them out. I have never purposely clicked on ads so they can offer me as many things as they want they won't get a single penny from me.

Another thing that is as much of a blessing as it is a curse is online shopping in my ty country. Apart from a few local e-tailers that have nothing, there are no major ones (Amazon, Newegg, etc). Import taxes are so ridiculous that I don't buy stuff online and don't have an online shopping profile.

There is barely any connection between online me and physical me.

Recently switched from Chrome since the past few months to Firefox. Chrome is so bloated in comparison now.

I did the same since last year and tried the other day to go back to Chrome, didn't work out.

Firefox has a lot more options and customizability than Chrome, especially when it comes to useful add-ons and privacy focused/oriented stuff.

Sure, neither is perfect in my opinion. Since Chrome has features I'd like to have in Firefox and vice versa. But the same with smartphones, ie iOS and Android, different motherboards, keyboard, mices etc... This is the compromise you have to make with one over the other.
