Where do the guys in the UK get distilled water.

I've looked everywhere and can't find it locally. Seems only deionised water is being sold an EK have said not to use it.

Try the local pharmacy. I would be surprised if they couldn't get you distilled water since it's used for medical purposes.

I tried my local pharmacy and they don't have it.

Have seen it sold online Wraith but am working all day tomorrow and wanted to get it sorted today but Tescos, Halford etc don't have it.

Might just order a full litre of EKs coolant and sort it at the weekend.

Just get DeIonised stuff for car batteries from halfords, super cheap, just get a 5l tub. (it's also more pure than distilled)

Basically this, it's another method of water purification. so if it were to leak it wouldn't ruin anything just like distilled

Sod it, I'll get some DeIonised water then, as you guys have eased my nerves of using it.

Once gain, thanks to the OC3D gang :)

You'll be fine if you use biocides and make sure your rad etc are all cleaned before filling the loop.

I assume that will be included in the EK coolant that comes with the Kit? It a brand new kit so I assume I won't need to clean it.

I would imagine so, but it would depend on the coolant as to whether you are supposed to mix it with water. If it is clear then just use the coolant.

I use EC6 (one red rig one green) and it came all ready to just use. Had it running for at least a couple of months now and it's still perfect.

Yup always clean your stuff. It may have metal bits in, impurities etc.

I use distilled vinegar personally, then flush with distilled water.

How do you go about cleaning them?

Buy a couple of caps if you do not have any. G 1/4 caps/plugs. They usually come on GPU blocks.

Make up a hose with a G 1/4 fitting fitted to a hose for one end. Then insert a funnel into the other end and cable tie it on.

Put the plug/cap in one side of the rad, connect up your funnel/hose and start pouring in vinegar. Shake regularly to expel any air bubbles. When it starts backing up you can either position it and leave it for a couple of hours or you can remove the hose and plug the other side of the rad.

The latter is smellier and a bit messier. Any way, to drain remove the plug and then pour some water through the rad. Do all of this over a sink, btw, as it's minging.

Once you have poured a couple of litres through you are good. Repeat the same with any blocks/res etc.
