Whatsapp has released a dedicated desktop app, allowing Whatsapp to better integrate into your PC, leaving your contacts at your fingertips whether you are on your phone or PC.

Yes End-to-End encryption is embedded into the desktop app as with all the other iterations of Whatsapp.

Edit: Oh so it's just an Electron App. lol fair enough. Better than needing a browser plugin I guess, but still, works exactly the same.
