Iv been asked by a friend of mine to set him up with a pc, he hasnt got a clue and so the balls pretty much in my court, his budget isnt what id call extensive, but his PC is gonna be used solely for word processing, MS Office applications, MSN, media and downloading. At the moment this is what im looking at:

1x 512MB pc3200 stick of Kingston value ram

1x Maxtor Diamondmax 10 Hard Disk Drive 100GB ATA/133 7200RPM 8MB Cache

1x Asus K8S-MX SKT754 SIS760 MATX , Vga, Sound, Lan, Usb2, Fsb800, Sata133r

1x LG GSA-4167BAL 16x DVD±RW Dual Layer Internal IDE

1x AMD Sempron 3100+ Skt754 256kb Cache 90nm

1x Vusys 14" TFT 30ms 250:1 (1024x768) Multi Media Monitor w/3 Years Warranty

1x Hiper 350W Single Fan Low Noise PSU

1x Ebuyer Extra Value TX-302 Micro ATX Tower Case

1x Ebuyer Extra Value 8cm Case Fan With Blue LED's (to fill the side grid on the case)

1x Microsoft OEM Windows XP Home Edition inc SP2 - 1pk

Budget standard wired mouse and keyboard

At the moment this is coming out at £435 exactly

Any suggestions on any modifications to this list?

Just looked at similar spec and came out with £500 ish with Sempron 3000+ 1gb corsair value ram and 200gb HD SATA , 17 TFT with 8ms response time and 480hiper power exluding delivery tough :)

All i can say is there is no really performance difference between sempron 3100+ and 3000+ and looking at the retailers you can save upto £15 by switching them and might go for 17 TFT which samsung costs 130 at Aria and Daewoo 140 at Scan.

nice Tec, but id defiantely recommend buying a psu that isnt standard with the case, will save a lot of headaches in the future.
