What PPD should i expect?

Hey guys

I have been looking round the Folding forum and seen people with systems getting higher PPD than me but yet I thought my system would get more than theirs. I have no idea what components should get what PPD so that's why I'm here lol

Seen someone with a 2600k @ 4.5 GHz and a stock 570 getting around 50-55k PPD. (Edit: Just messaged them and they said the 570 is overclocked a fair bit which is why it gets higher PPD)

Yet I have a 2600k @ 4.5 GHz like them, but I have a 580 (at stock clocks otherwise the coil whine I get is unbearable

) and I usually get between 20k and 40k at the best. Any reason why this would be? Also, what PPD would you expect my system to be getting?

It depends on the WUs you get as well, some will give less points than others. I don't know about the 580 but 23,000 - 26,000 is the average I have seen for 2600K's unless it's just the WUs you are getting I don't know what else could be causing your lower PPD.
 
With the good WU's I get around 25k PPD at 4.0Ghz on my i7 2600k. My room has no windows you can open so it gets extremely hot in there with ambient temps above 25 C, which is why I haven't pushed my CPU further. Anyway with my 580, PPD averages around 25K with the good WU's. Most of the time though I average around 45K PPD (with both the CPU and GPU running) and the reason why I don't get that everyday is because I game on my rig as well so I can't maintain 45 K PPD everyday. So in conclusion I think that your CPU PPD should be slightly higher than mine considering that you CPU is overclocked to a higher frequency and you have the same Graphics card as me so PPD should be similar in that regard as well. Although my Graphics card is factory overclocked so our PPD should be very similar, when folding with both the CPU and GPU.

I have V7 and even after completing a WU and changing to new ones, I'm still only getting around 20k PPD.

Is this just because I'm getting WU's that constantly give me low PPD or am I doing something wrong?

Sorry for all the questions I just feel with my rig that i should be getting slightly higher than 20k PPD

Give it some time. as you complete more work units your PPD will increase because you will get better WU's.

From both CPU and GPU combined. Don't worry now though, had some better WU's and got up to around 44k. At least I'm happy now that F@H isn't mugging me off for points anymore
