Hmmm..dunno about the Gold Edition of OCZ.

I do know that the Rev 2 edition of the platinum PC3200 (with Samsung TCCD's) is excellent! But then I have it...so I'm a bit bias! :worship:

Just because ram isn't rated for those speeds, doesn't mean that it can't do them :) The OCZ EL Platinum Rev. 2 PC3200 that I have, and most everyone else has, can do PC4800 without a hiccup, and usually at lower timings than what PC4800 sticks are rated at.

The "rated" speed means nothing, it's the IC's and build quality that counts.

G.Skill currently has some LE sticks for sale with TCCD's that are great overclockers, just as good as the OCZ Rev. 2 EL Plat. Check into those as well!

:beerchug:

OCZ has a 'Value VX' line now. Unbinned sticks, so its hit and miss but ye could hit a stinker :worship:

God I hate taking chances like that... If u get a shit stick there's nothing u can do about it and ur out the money. But, if ur on a tight budget then I guess u should take the chance because ur budget isn't going to allow u to get anything better anyhow, lol.

IF your on a tight budget then I would recommend getting twinmos speed premiums or the muskhin blue line , dual channel kit from fry's . Both have winbond chips .

Check out the EXTREME BANDWIDTH section over at www.xtremesystems.org/forums . There are stickies based on these rams right now.

Ohh btw frag , mushkin is releasing a new lineup called the "red line" which has pc3200 , pc3500 and pc4000 dual channel kits with timings of 2-2-2-5 . Looks like mushkin is back in the winbond business ;) .
