What Modem and Router would be good for gaming on with 6.0 AT&T DSL?

[font=arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif]

I have an Alienware m17x R3 and I am finally getting internet at my home. It will be used for gaming and connecting a few phones too, IE Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, and the Galaxy S2. The phones will be just casual browsing and such but I will also have it used for an Xbox 360 and PS, so which modem and Wireless router would the fine people of Yahoo Answers recommend?

Please note, I would like to keep the price below $100 for the router, really the most I want to go over is $125. I have found this router to be quite aesthetically pleasing http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320088

Remember, price is an issue here so please consider that when giving me your choices.

I can't seem to find any US based suppliers but a company called Billion are doing some really good home networking products at the minute.

See if you can find some prices/reviews on their kit.

Anyway, I have an ASUS RT-N16 and can recommend it. I do wish it were dual band though. If you don't have issues with 2.4GHz interference, it's a great router and allows you to use custom firmware. You do want to use DD-WRT on it too as the stock firmware is bad.

lol, never use Yahoo Answer's for any questions you have. Anyway +1 on hmmblah's post.

What are the real differences in 2.4 and 5ghz frequencies? I also came across this router, it looks decent and I hope it would perform http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122378 also this router http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320062 I know this one is a large part over my price point but it is still a nice option.

The 5GHz band is less saturated so you may get better throughput.

The first router you linked does not have gigabit ports. The second does. It doesn't look like either of them are flashable with custom firmware. Gigabit is important if you have multiple wired PCs on your network. Transfer speeds between them will be much faster. This becomes more important if you are streaming HD content.

Is this a decent router, it is very cheap and looks very nice as well.

I just want something decently priced, Dual Band, and is just an all around good router for my needs, so really anything you can think of that is decently priced and is what I need then tell me man, lol routers are not exactly one of my points of interest when it comes to tech.

That looks good on paper. Can't really say how it's going to perform though because I've never used it.

Well me boy'ohs It has arrived, after a month of use I will type up a proper review of this beauty. First impressions are as followed, horrible OEM Firmware, Brilliant hardware.
