im going to get some new ram for my PC, i have some already that is 1333mhz that came with the PC in a bundle, i want ot get some new ram in 8Gb sticks, i dont know what frequency to get though, as my motherboard says in the spec for compatible memory:
1333mhz, 1600mhz, 1866mhz, then it goes 2000mhz (O.C) 2133 (O.C.) but what i dont get is what the O.C is and whether it means that i can just put in 2133mhz memory and it will work or if there is some stuff i need to do in the bios to make it work, please help.
thanks in advance.

The OC means OverClock: which means your motherboard can support those speeds but it will not do it automatically for you and requires you to manually overclock them, which is done in the bios. Get 2 sticks of 4gb(2x4gb) and that will total 8gb, stick with 1600mhz because the increase in speed is not noticable unless your are doing video rendering/music editing etc. and will not help games at all(generally speaking.)

If you must have 8gb sticks get 2x8gb at 1600mhz:)

Also anything below 1866mhz will most likely not need to be fixed in the bios if you have the latest version:)

but i will be doing video/ photo editing? so how do i make 2133mhz work, in the bios there is a thing with memory where you can set it higher? does that have something todo with it?
also, it was a very nice summary :P

1866mhz will do you fine and since you seem to lack the knowledge of using the bios and how to set up ram timings/speed i would suggest you stay away from those higher speeds because if you mess up everything goes nuts. No disrespect or anything:)

i know a few things about the bios and stuff like overclocking cpu etc... but ram, nope, not my sorta area :P

Cheap psus are not something you want to joke about, dirty power can degrade hardware very fast.
Upgrade the gpu, if you are doing video rendering you will struggle A LOT with hd graphics

you've been telling me in the other thread about 660 ti vs 7950 lol didn't you know I was the same person :-P

will a motherboard that accept "800 MHz / 1066 MHz / 1333 MHz / 1600 MHz / 2400 MHz" RAM's also accept 1866 MHz RAM?

Motherboard: ASRock X79 Extreme4-M

It'll work as soon as you stick it in the banks but it will work at 1333MHz. You'll have to enable XMP or manually set the timings and voltages in your bios to make them run at their rated speed
