What have you broken?

Thread to measure how clumsy people are... :D I'll go first! My hardware related breakages include, in no particular order:

- Coolermaster 3-5000RPM variable speed Socket A heatsink fan

- Several Pentium 486DX CPU's and two primitive motherboards

- EDO DIMM RAM - 4Mb & 12MB, 2 sticks

- Compaq Contura Aero 4/33C laptop (I loved that thing.... *sob*)

- One Xbox, old version

- One Matisha (?) DVDROM drive

- One CDR/W drive -48x12x48x

- One Athlon XP 2200 Thoroughbred CPU

- Asus A7S333 Socket A mobo

- Asrock K7N8XE socket A mobo

- Abit Av8 socket 939 mobo

- Nvidia Geforce 4 4400Ti 128MB

- Sound Blaster 16 ISA soundcard...

- Generic external IDE drive power adaptor thingy I bought recently

- Several small SDRAM sticks, 32- 128MB

- Seagate ST157A HDD

- Conner Peripherals CFS425A HDD

- HIS IceQ Excalibur Radeon 9800Pro 128MB

- Two Diamond Multimedia 8MB AGP video cards

- Several pairs of headphones, heh

- Old HP scanner (would remember model if amnesia allowed)

- One Xbox Controller S (but I hate those things anyway)

- Western Digital Caviar WD12100 HDD

- Several IDE cables of various types

- One really old generic PSU belonging to a friend...

There are other things but they aren't related enough... I am the PC menace! Bow down to my seemingly arthritic hands. To be fair, some of it just seemed to go bust after I'd played around with it by some kind of sick coincidence. I swear I'm not really that bad.

Hrmm... things that I've actually broken with my own hands, not too much stuff, but some of it was expensive:

- Leadtek 6800 GT

- EPoX 9NDA3+

- EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra (maybe my fault, could have been DOA, dont really know for sure)

- 120mm Panaflo M1A

Hrmmm, those are the only recent things I can remember breaking and I don't ever remember breaking anything in any of my former computers.

i think it's a message that you weren't meant to handle electronics.

i haven't really broken too much stuff, but my pentium 3 computer turned into a piece of crap after 4 years so i beat it with a stick and now it works a little beter.

lmao. wow. i broke my old athlon xp 2000+ thoroughbread B.

tried a different way of the pencil trick, that didnt work out too well.

man I love this forum... we can say fuck fuck fuckity fuck all day long and not hafta worry about getting banned :)

aint it grand!

I busted

2x AMD XP 2500+ Barton (both sctratched)

Shuttle somthin sktA mobo (put a screwdriver through it)

Asrock somthin sktA mobo (fried)

Radeon 9800Pro (water + electronics = naughtyness)

3x Q-Tec 550W PSUs (they kept going bang)

Random 350W PSU (wondered what would happen if I switched to 110V :))

256MB PC2700 RAM (snapped)

well i am pretty sure that my first bust is my psu but it could be anything else in the comp ;).

i am blaming it on funky wiring to a toggle switch which controlled 4 fans and was not grounded.

I busted:

1 x XP 3200+ Barton

1 x 480w PSU

1 x AOpen mobo (well, just a bit came off)

2 x Old IDE cables when I went about them with angryness

2 x IDE 40gb Maxtor HD's (god knows how)

1 x Random Mobo from a Tiny PC

I'm sure thee's more, but I can't think right now

CrAc - mate that's a lot o sh!t - are you really fucking clumsy or what??

I can handle electronics! I'm just extremely unlucky. In my defence I fixed two pairs of headphones, and a couple of the hard disks do sort of work until you actually, you know, try to use them... shit I'm running outta excuses, lol.

Computer equipment:

Stuff to see how it works, or just wanted to shoot/crush it

A few laptops

A printer Lexmark zxxx

A scanner

By accident:

Ipod 15gb 3g, screen, repalced by 4g so im happy.

Motherboard- dad left it plugged in to phone line during lightining storm. Dumb ass.

CrArCs latest breakage? He was trying to silence PC. Achieved aim by limiting PSU fans, but forgot anciliary aims: PC must continue to work. So he achieved his main aim, just forgot about the rest.

Rofl nicely put, snafle. It did work for a while though, then there was this burning smell and instead of just turning it off I sort of tried to sniff out which device it was coming from....

Anyway you forgot to add to your list that HDD you dismantled. Stick linkage across from the highly questionable SXGL so's people can see...

Snafle's HDD buggery

And, for once something I DIDN'T break (this still works, people, hard to believe but it's true..) :

CrArC's HDD buggery
