What do you guys think?

Ok so i've finally plucked up the courage to build a new rig for myself, which i will be using for "studying"...... YEAH RIGHT!!

I will be using for mostly gaming, using as a media server, occasional photoshopping.

I wanna be able to max out games at 1080p and my budget is around £800-900.

Here is what I've come up with so far:

As you can see there is no case, as im currently stuck between a Bitfenix Shinobi, Corsair Carbide 300r (with window) and a Coolermaster 690 II

And I've yet to add an SSD because dont know too much about them. What 120gb is the best atm?

Also what are you views on the Graphics card? is it a good choice? Let me know if there is a better one within the price range of about £250

Overall if there is anything you guys think could be improved, feel free to let me know :)

Thanks for your time.
Luke

Yeah, Aria seem to be out of the G45 at the moment. Frustrating, as their G45 'Gamers' bundle is still in stock.

Edit: my offer -

The motherboard really needs to be the ATX G45, but as it's not in stock at the moment, it may be worth waiting.

Budget's gone over due to last minute CPU heatsink.

A question; do you have dedicated speakers for your PC/always use headphones?

My stereo will be connected up to the pc (does me well) and i also have a headset too :)

Do aria not have the MSI Z77A G45 at the moment? If they do go for that over the Gigabyte one.

You can save a bit of money by getting this ram - http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials...annel+Kit+[CML8GX3M2A1600C9]+?productId=45511

And I have the 690 II Advanced Black and White, this one - http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials...White+Midi+Tower+Gaming+Case+?productId=48603 And I can only say positives about it, looks great, it's quiet and good cooling :)

Wicked i do like the 690II i think im gonna have to go for it, im sure ive seen that its possible to get a side window for it. is that true?

That seems like a very good deal all together, ill wait for the G45 to come back in stock, was the monitor i originally posted not that good then? and how good is the 7950?

You said you wanted to do some gaming and some photoshopping - the monitor I chose is an IPS panel. Far, far greater colour reproduction over TN panels found in most LCD monitors.

7950's awesome, especially when overclocked.

loooks like a solid rig but the case choice is not the best nowadays have a look at some of corsairs options

Josh's rig is good - go with that.

I'd possibly go for a fully modular power supply such as a Silverstone strider (available at Scan and Overclockers)

Very reliable - and I couldn't live without a modular psu these days.

Hmmm i would go for a modular but it doesn't bother me too much as its all going to be hidden anyway. Or is there something about modular psu's that im missing out on? but ill way up my choices and see what happens. Thanks for the input though bro

It can improve the airflow for the case, but i was trying to fit things into a budget.
If you can stretch your budget some more, then i'd add a modular one into the mix.

As much id like to stretch even more i dont think i can, i've gotta stop myself from going too much over budget otherwise before i know it id be spending over 2k :)
would love to but not when ive gotta save for car insurance due in a couple of months :/

Thanks for the advice guys, really appreciate it. Im currently doing a Microsoft MCTS course and really need to concentrate on that so ordering parts for my new build is delayed for about a month, but as soon as im finished im gonna order straight away as a treat to myself :) hope to see you all soon!
