what cpu to buy for gaming and overclocking?

Hello i am thinking of buying a z87 sabertooth. what cpu should i buy for overclocking and gaming. im thinking about an i5 haswell. i dont think they overclock too well tho.

if you go with Z87 MB, you are into 4th Gen Hasswell processor only, socket 1150 only. So i3, i5, i7 and K variants are the unlocked version that you can overclock. The top two chips people use are i5 4670K and i7 4770K. The difference is i5 is 4 cores/4 Threads. i7 is 4 cores/8 threads. So for Gaming i5 is usually more than sufficient
