like the tittle says, WD, launched their new HD of the Caviar green line, it has a 2TB capacity, and its made of four 500gb platters, if 1,5TB wasn't much, now you can have their biggest one, also WD anounced that their Caviar line of drives will be all updated using their new platter (500gb one) also the cache will vary from 8mb to 32. read more at this link

bit to expensive at the moment thought but a really good idea.

these drive's are just going to get bigger and bigger.....and so is the price.

Hmm I like the 500GB platter idea. I wonder how a few 1TB versions of those perform in RAID. 2TB is still too expensive though.

To be honest it's not THAT expensive. I remember when 1TB's where that price.

But that said, I'll still wait untill I can get 5 for that price, because I would need 12 to replace the array :P

Bought 2x1tb drives for £70 (ish) a piece. The cost of the 2tb u can have 4x1tb.

If u have that much pr0n, and a mobo with 4/6 sata ports, I don't think u'll consider the 2tb atm, u'll w8 til they drop to sub £200.

Any1 who bought a 2tb, then partitioned it, for the launch price, needs to seriously look at themselves.

That being said, great tech, now get people to buy em so the price can drop :p

Well it would depend on the situation, our servers could certainly benifit from 2TB drives.

However for personal use, I agree wait...........
