Western Digital 1TB Black or Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB

Hi all

I am building a pc for the first time and i will be sing it mainly for gaming and photo/movie editing and i need some advice on which HDD to get. The western digital has been given good reviews in allot of cases but the custom pc magazine recommends the Samsung and so do allot of other places, any body got any recommendations because i would really like to hear from you.

I would go for the WD. I have 2 of them in my server and they have been running 24/7 for over 2 years without a clitch. They also come with a 5 year warranty.

Both HDD are good drives, I have 2 Caviar blacks and theyve been as good as gold and it has a bigger cache than the samsung, but I dont think youll find a better drive at the price the the F3. so if you are on a budget yuo wont go far wrong with a the F3 (i know alot of the guys recommed them as they are very good bang bang for the buck), if you cant stretch it, then go for the WD

Either will do, depends how much you would like to spend. Personally I would go for the Samsung, no particular reason though.

ive found samsung to be quieter running drives...
