I thought Id kick this off, if you would like to discuss brexit implications both now and what happens in the future then here is place to do it.

Healthy debate is fine, you're all allowed differing opinions and expressing them but please do not belittle anyone else, no anger etc etc.

Mods will be monitoring this thread like hawks because this is new territory for us.

Im looking forward to reading both sides of the argument from you all.

Be nice x

Beeing from Scotland, I feel as if we've been dragged out of the EU by England, so another Scottish independence referendum would be appropriate.

As a Northern Irish person, I also feel that we are being dragged out of the EU by England.

This will have huge implications for us as we have a border with the Republic of Ireland.

The result has also shown a divide between Unionist voters and their political leaders, as anything hampering our travel and trade with the south will hurt us massively.

I think a move to Scotland might be appropriate.

Nicola Sturgeon has just said that an independence referendum is "highly likely"as Scotland was forced out of the EU against its will

On another note 61% voted out in Braintree essex although I welcome hard working europeans it's the minority of the bad ones that has changed peoples views here as the crime rate has risen in this area mainly involving eastern europeans.

Yep but it can still take sometime before you get it. I dont think it can take place until the 2 year period is up. And can take longer if the Article 50 is extended beyond the 2 years.

Gear prices are already starting top go up, 1080's have gone up by £30 on OCUK, The 16GB Corsair LPX kit I was going to get has gone up from 80 to 100 slats.

Putting prices up on current stock is beyond greedy but then again I expect no less from OCUK.

Theyve already said they wont even start article 50 until after Cameron is replaced.

It doesnt happen instantly.

Yes I know, I am saying that even once it is underway, Article 50 can be extended even further beyond the expected 2 year period.

It is clearly showing that the EU heirarchy are angered and are calling Cameron a coward for running, also demanding Article 50 begin right away.

What I am annoyed with is that the majority of the voters to leave are 65+ so it is like they did not even care what will happen to their younger generation. These interviews I see on live BBC now.. they all admit Farage told a lie about the 350mill a week, they all state their opinion was based on immigration and NHS but when asked to elaborate, they go quiet.

If there is a god.. he'd better help us all right now.

I believe the conservatives are going to use it to win them the next election. They'll keep us in the EU until then. The time taken to get a deal and the eventual deal will not please most who voted out, that much is almost a given. This whole vote has shown that after many years of mismanagement by the various idiots in number 10 the country is more divided then many people (admittedly unrealistically) thought. Its a real shame that if/when we leave the country needs to stand together. Will we? f***.

Personally:
As someone who works in an industry that is partially funded by the EU and in a city that has very strong ties to the rest of Europe (especially compared to some of the areas that voted leave) I'm very unimpressed with the result. I'm also someone who is going to be affected by it in the future, something which most of the leave voters won't be if we look at what age group voted what*.

*Votes By Age
(YouGov poll)
18-24: 75% Remain
25-49: 56% Remain
50-64: 44% Remain
65+: 39% Remain

Motion of no confidence in Jeremy Corbyn issued now as well

Its a shame. That said it was a given.

I can see it getting a bit messy for people in general shortly :(

im laughing hard at the live interviews... again they say the number one cause of voting out is immigration and then walk away. No one can give valid and elaborate reasoning to voting out.

It just re enforces my opinion that those voting out haven't thought clearly about the impact on the economy, trade, education, free movement or the younger generation most of which voted to remain...

UK residence get 28days leave a year because of EU legislation. Same goes for maternity leave. So many things taken for granted.

The UK leaving the EU is a bit like that spoiled kid who doesn't appreciate home and runs away because it doesn't want to do any chores. After a night in the cold outside it will appreciate what it has been taking for granted before.

Indeed, Immigration won't stop 1 bit at all as the majority of immigrants come from outside the EU, Pakistan, Africa etc.... so all this "Yay no more EU immigrants" is pointless as the number of actual native EU people coming in are tiny compared to people from outside the EU.

Exactly, People really didn't think this through when voting to leave, We won't be able to have a "vote in" campaign for quite a few years now if ever.

Englands future is looking grim especially for working class people.

I have no idea about the implications on trade with the Republic but I can't see travel between the North and South being impacted neither side has the desire or resources to rebuild borders and man them etc besides Ireland is not part of the Shengen so no worries there.

The Irish government is meeting today to discuss it, so we should hear what they have to say later today.

Thanks for the info I'll be sure to keep my eye out for it, really can't imagine it happening though, having said that the Irish government are basically the rent boys of Brussels all desperate for MEP positions so who knows what agreements could be made.

Juncker has specifically said, out is out. UK will not be able to vote back in ever again.

Now couple this with Scotland and N Ireland skepticism. Those voting out have efffectively broken up the UK. You might as well abolish it because if Scotland and N Ireland leave and England and Wales remain, this does not make up a "United Kingdom of Sovereignty"

Says it all really.

The President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, says the EU will not allow the UK to re-join the single market.

"Leave is leave", he said. "The UK just decided to leave the European Union and that means also the single market of the European Union. I wonder whether this is a rational decision. It is an emotional one."

Mr Schulz said he respected the decision of the British people, but felt it was the wrong one.

"The UK had lost independence nowhere. The UK is not a part of Schengen, it's not a part of the euro. The UK had a lot of opt-outs… it was the UK insisting always not to be a full-fledged member of the EU.

"The only areas they were a fully-fledged member is the single market and now they cut the links to the single market and look what happens today on the internal markets."

He said Leave campaigners had duped the British public by making false promises.

"Yes, that message that Britain alone would be stronger than together with the other countries of the European Union, this is a fairytale."
