Weird Power Supply! Help QQ

Hi, first time poster, with a problem. ^^

I ordered an Alienware (I know, i know, first mistake.) They sent me the wrong power cord to their power supply. It has a 1000W Power Supply; and they sent me what seemed to be a regular power supply cord. However, it will not fit in the computer. While the prongs on a regular power supply usually go Up and Down, this ones go left and right.

I've never seen that kind of power supply before. It comes from Newton Power Ltd. I was wondering if anyone has any information on this kind of power supply, such as maybe the wearabouts of where i could purchase a new cord to fit it. Any help would be appreciated.

never seen a psu that don't use the standard kettel cord

weird

try contacting alienware and ask them to send a cable

I have a Rosewill 550W PSU spare, do you think it would be enough to handle...

Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz

250GB SATA HD

4GB of ram(4x1gb - can take some out of need be)

Nvidia 8800GTX

...and a 20x dvd drive? :p

I posted the spec of the one i'm going to put it in above; Core 2 duo 2.13GHzish, 4GB of ram wshich i can trim down if need be, and 1 8800GTX, 250GB SATA HD, water cooling and a 8800GTS 640MB. ( I know i said GTX, sorry made a mistake.) And the PSU i have is a Rosewill 550W. I just want to know if it'll be enough to handle it.

It sounds like you need a mains power cable with either a C19 (rectangular) or a C21 (bevelled) connector depending on the shape of the male connector (C20 or C22) on your PSU. See here and here for some diagrams.

I would hassle Alienware until they send you the correct cable though.

Done a quick search. The C19 type connector seems to be readily available online (e.g. Amazon, TPS, Reveal, etc) but I couldn't find anywhere that sells the C21 type.

You could also try the usual highstreet electrical suspects, e.g. Dixons, Curry's, Comet, PCWorld, etc. You'd have to be certain about what type of connector your PSU has though, so you don't buy the wrong one.

Thanks very much, i could take a picture from a crappy webcam but the inlet for it is rectangular so i'm guessing it's a C19.
