morning folks, first post here but i think ill be hanging around.

asking for some help for a friend of mine, he has a bfg geforce 8800 gtx oc2 but it doesnt seem to power up correctly the fan spins up etc but the card never displays anything on screen. nothing has obviously been changed in the system when this happened

I have the BFG 8800 GT OC2 in my Gateway and never had an issue like that. Could one of the power connectors have come loose? I guess you've checked the basics already, but worth checking that & re-seating the card. Things can work their way loose over time as things heat up and cool down in normal use.

So, a check-list:

Check all cables from card to monitor

Check PCI-E power to Card - both ends if PSU is modular

Ensure Card is seated properly in its PCI-E slot

Check your monitor! I have twin inputs on one of mine and someone fiddled once = no display! lol

Best of luck.

Scoob.

All the above advice sounds good, if all else fails, contact BFG support, they are VERY good in my opinion, my 8800GTX i had about4 years ago burnt out and i had no proof of purchase or garuntee, they replaced it and paid for the delivery costs and everything, they replaced it with an OC edition.

Sounds like it has gone to GPU heaven!

BFG have gone out of business so you dont stand a chance in hell in getting any form of warranty service.
