It's hard to know where they'll be in the future, I mean it's not exactly unlikely that my FX-8350 could be my last ever AMD desktop CPU.

It takes the P when something like that is posted in jest and gets such a negative response from people, mainly fanboys and the like, who have no sense of humour.
Anyone that got offended by that pic is an obvious fanboy, why else would you get offended, seriously? God I hate fanboys so much :angry:

I don't care if it's Intel, AMD or Nvidia as long as we get great products that work and don't cost the earth....more competition,more competition well you get the picture.

Personally i have had intel rigs since windows 95, and i find the pic entertaining.
And yeah AMD is cheaper and better in some cases depending on what you do with it.
I don't know much about the AMD / ATI side rly and for some reason i'd like to stick to intel because thats what i know so well.
Still, i do not have any hate for AMD, it just never crossed my path yet.
How's that as a intel person's answere eh?

It just really annoys me when you get ignorant people who are fanboys of Intel/AMD or AMD/Nvidia. Doesn't matter which, a fanboy is a fanboy, no matter what camp they are in.
They just ignore all logic, facts, benchmarks and are adamant that their brand is the best just because they think it is.

Well, it really depends in what aspect you're looking at both CPUs.
For rendering, an i7. For gaming, the 8350 is often the same/ at tad bit faster and sometimes a bit slower. Windows 7 had a bug which decreased AMD performance. Windows 8 fixed it.

games are mainly utilizing single threading, which AMD CPUs are quite frankly f*cking awful at. Rendering is using multi threading, that's what AMD CPUs are good at.

^^ That sounds logical indeed, and I was to highly suprised, but I also saw some benchies the 8350 performed nearly the same, if not a little better in games, while being on par with the 3570k in rendering, with the 3770k beating it.
